Honestly, I've had white letters out in the past and it requires some work to keep them looking good.

 

Got some 265/75r16s put on. I tried searching but couldn't find much. What pressure do you all run yours at? Mine is at 43/44 psi and is a wee bit stiff. Don't really want to wear the center tread too fast either.

 

I run the same size at 35 psi all the way around. Heats up to about 40 psi. Put about 3000 miles on mine and haven't noticed any wear issues. Time will tell.

I would try like @pdxtrdtaco1874 said and drop them down to 35psi. That's about where I run mine, because they heat up to 38psi quick.

 

I chalk tested my tires, they like 33psi cold even with all my added weight to the truck.

The also like 19psi dirty.



285-75-17 flavor and you need to chop a lot, even more than with 33's had to re-chop my chopped cab mount chops and cut my fenders.

Also had to put 3/16" spacer on my front bump stops to keep them from topping out in the engine bay metal inner fender. (Not the fender liner that's been long gone.)

I have about +2° of forward caster, and I need more, currently at full lock-bump-compression they hit the cab even with the pinch weld flattened.

I still get stuck but they ride and climb so much better than the KO2's I had, and surprisingly they're quieter and better in the rain.

Kinda mad at BFG for dropping the ball on the KO2's.

First time going with something other than BFG/Michelin on anything I own, glad I did!

Seeing as how we are trending black Tacoma's at the moment might as well add to the mix. Sadly I just had the truck detailed 3 days ago. It looked really clean for about three hours and then the skies opened up for three days, the struggle is real...

265 75 16's. Looks better in person and drives well. Seems to be tracking straight but I only have 10 miles on them. Plenty of room in the wells to clear the mudflaps and no rubbing.

Have some 17 inch Ray 10s that I decided not to mount. I did rethink for a moment but Im happy with the stock appearance.

 

There is a black vinyl kit out there for stock wheels that make them look really good. Also if you pull the mud flaps off it really cleans up the truck

 

So after driving around more I do have some rubbing on my mudflaps but I am rocking Rexgen aftermarkets and they don’t really contour to the wheel well. Probably wouldn't happen on the stock ones.

I'll have to trim the inside but I don't see it being an issue.

 

Hear that. I do like the look without mudflap but prefer the paint protection the flaps provide.

 

I have Cooper ST Maxx's on my truck. I see cracking around the treads and bead. Is it time I replace them? They still have a lot of tread left. The date code on them appears to be 1512.

 

That tire is 8 and a half years old. I’m sure NHTSA has recommendations on the matter if you’re worried.

 

It’s becoming a tradition to run the ORV route in Cape Cod each September. Last year I had KO2s, this year STT Maxx. Despite the KO2’s being “Baja Champions”, the Coopers dig significantly better. Point the front wheels and add throttle got the truck over any dune or out of any rut. The KO2s really struggled getting out of tracks and really wanted to tramline, STTs are point and throttle. The high head dune pictured was a little bit of a challenge on the KO2s last year. I had to make two passes at it. This year I came over the top with disappointingly little struggle.
