Where i'm running into a problem with using the bed rails is I have a half shelf that goes from about the front of the wheel wells (closest to tailgate) to the front of the bed (towards the cab). The edge of the shelf sits just at the bed rail (so plano totes can fit underneath). I have the BAMF mounting plates for the bed rails which sit pretty flush, and I tinkered around with them yesterday, but I think in order for it to work, I would have to cut a corner of my shelf out for the jack. There just isn't enough room for the jack length wise because of the shelf.
If all else fails, i'll just toss it in the bed and call it a day if I cant mount it to the rack. This is a good suggestion though for others who may be having that problem with the softopper!

Thank you very much! It was a good day! :bananadance:

Just don't hook it to a roof rack. Don't want something that heavy that high up :anonymous:

thats my concern! So many people say it’s safe, including hi-lift, but it just doesn’t seem safe to me!

The rears would be an issue since they are different sizes correct?

I don’t see why they would be a problem. The non OR / Pro have the same 8” rear diffs as the 2nd gen. The fronts are identical.

As to the beam jack, I’ve stated it here before but it’s worth repeating. I’d seriously consider not putting it in an overhead position as it’s very easy to give yourself a concussion when you are frustrated/angry/muddy/tired and forget the weight of it. Of course there’s the busted side windows that happen from time to time with that arrangement as well. I’d keep it in the bed of the truck wrapped in a canvas or the like.

Trip sounds fun, be safe and tell us about it when you get back.

Congrats on tying the knot! Best wishes on many years of happy marriage.

I'm going to Utah this weekend as well and am trying to find a tube mount clamp for my quickfists as well. Can only look locally as Amazon says delivery Saturday when I'm already on the road.

Found this on the review for quickfists and am looking for something like it to buy from a local store.

Seconded, just bring a floor jack, and a bottle jack with some 4x4’s. Mechanical bottle jacks (like the factory one) can be pretty reliable as jack stands if needed

Yeah they’re mega sketchy on anything other than level ground lol and even then both the other jacks still make it easier. You’re right they’re all painted red/black and 90% of them are mounted on rigs that have zero points that you could lift from without tearing panels off

These are cool. Might havta get a pair

I've used mine twice now. Once because it was the only jack in the lot tall enough (ahem, @Sasquatch3153 ) and the other on a bit of a hill to do a tire change. With the off road base they grab soft/angled ground pretty well. But ya gotta know how to use them.
