AT Temp light on 2006 4L 5 sp auto trans Prerunner - there is a light !

    Nonw Stock
    Changed the 5-sp Auto Tranny fluid and wanted to check the level of the fluid in the drain pan.
    Yes ! Did the 4-13 jump step and got the "AT Temp" light.
    Took about 5 times of practice going from N to D. Turning the car totally off each time. Then it did it at last when I shifted more quickly, the dial/dash light finally illuminated !

    Some posts appeared to doubt the existence of the light. BUT ! -- I did it anyway and got the light to work. Got under the truck and pulled the check plug and got a little dribble.

    I think I had an initial difficult time getting into "temp mode" because the ambient temp was already about 92F. This is the desert, you know. So I didn't have much of any warm up time. Temp light stayed on the full checking step when the plug got pulled.

    Always made the effort to refill what I took out - being sure tranny oil and change oil were at the same temp. Did pretty well ....
