    Hi All,

This past week I have been experiencing some hesitant starts on my 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport that only has 34,500 miles. The issue only occurs when the vehicle is cold, typically the first time I start it each day. Normally the vehicle revs up to 1000ish rpms and has a nice throaty sound to it. With this issue, the low rpms struggle and after a second or so it gets to the 1000ish mark. Once the truck starts, it runs fine and I haven’t noticed a loss of power or anything along those lines. I am aware of the open/pending recall on the fuel pump but am hoping others have heard of or experienced this issue as well. I tried a new battery, cleaned my air filter (wasn’t dirty), cleaned my mass airflow sensor (also wasn’t dirty) and recently put in some shell fuel to see if it would correct itself. No luck so far. I have a video I can attach for reference but wasn’t able to post it to the forum through my iPhone.

    any thoughts or suggestions?

    thank you!

Thanks, splitbolt that is helpful to see. Hopefully the issue goes away on its own. I installed the TRD intake when I purchased the truck, and then did the RIPP coil packs back in June. I have driven from CT to FL and back with the coil packs, so I really don’t think they are the culprit (especially because once started the truck runs perfectly fine). Considering taking them out and putting OEM back in if I do need to bring it into the dealership
