So coming up on 1300 km since the clutch install and it feels like it finally broke in and I got the feel for it down. With the hydro bearing and a clutch that just grabs within a small window of engagement there was lots of lurching, bucking and tire chirping starts. Also lots of noise when slipping the clutch in first or reverse so lot of funny looks in parking lots:gossip:.

Still is noisy but maybe getting a bit better.

Trying to get rowdy from a total stop feels hard on the drivetrain and I scare myself a little lol. Usually look like an idiot when I do it but I keep trying....

    They're just racetruck noises. Lol.

I'm still not used to that clutch. Need to practice my launches on a quiet road at night.

Lol, how long have you had yours in now? I'm feeling good if I drive normal now but am a bit nervous about winter cause it'll need a really light touch to avoid spinning tires on slippery stuff.

I find minimal to no gas pedal as I slip the clutch seems to work really well. As soon as gas is stepped on things get ugly and violent.

I hear you. I feel like winter slip makes it easier to fudge the engagement lol. I've had mine in for two years now. One of the things I do is really baby the clutch, last time I had the transmission out I injured my shoulder and only now does it finally feel better... I really don't want to take the trans out again.

Patches. It started with just one. A taco with a supercharger on it.

You do the patch thing? These things are always limited numbers but there's the group on Tacomaworld or Facebook where the second hand market exists. That's how I found that patch, posted what I was looking for and someone eventually offered one for sale.

Orezona designs from the taco coma series.

Another way to burn money lol:bananadead:

Thanks! How's the new meth addiction treating you? Good to see you kicking around again.

Thanks, its good to be back and see all cool things still happening here. Meth has been awesome so far! Only ran it for a couple weeks so far but I definitely notice the difference on pulls when it kicks in. I'm just using a single 375 nozzle. Hoping to get some logs sent to JustDSM to share some data on the knock reduction benefit.

I know for most or all of us he's tuned us without the meth so that it's a safety in case the system fails. I'm sure more power could be had if we tuned with the meth but some safety factor could be lost.

My system can be built failsafe (I think most can be nowadays) to disable the SC going into boost but I'd need to install a solonoid on the boost bypass valve hose.

That's my plan as well. I'll tune my AFRs without meth, and sacrifice that potential gain for safety of the motor

I'm thinking of tuning for the potential gain. I may just wire in a failsafe solonoid and my meth display lets me know when things go out of bounds. If that happened just lay off the throttle or stay out of boost.

I'm sure Justin will talk me out of it lol. (He later did using sound logic and knowledge. Turns out the afr of gas and methanol are two very different numbers so the safest tuning is to tune with good afr's for gas and then add meth).

    The Gas Pedal Spacer

I've been asked about this a few times so here's the details. In my opinion, one of the best mods ever for manual lovers. Makes it so the gas pedal is roughly even with the brake pedal. Heel-toe shifting becomes possible.

There was a thread with a guy selling gas pedal spacers a couple years back but I contacted him and had no response via pm or in thread.

Solution: Pulled my gas pedal out, traced the outline of the base and mounting holes onto paper and took that to a plastic shop. Plastic shop made me the spacer out of some sort of 3/4" block of tough, non flexy plastic. Found longer bolts at home depot. Bam. Done.

Gas pedal spacer (white but normally unnoticeable)
