Smoke ended up not clearing as much as I was hoping for, so I didn't go on a long ride, but still got out for about an hour and a half around town this afternoon, including 15 or so miles of gravel.

My morning consisted of finishing up installing the fresh barkbusters, then diving into the top end of the CT90. The new barkbusters stick out a centimeter less on each side, kind of weird, definitely noticed the narrower bars while riding.

The CT90's got such a cute little baby cam and piston, seriously tiny. Put in a new set of rings, cleaned off the piston, new gaskets everywhere and have it 95% buttoned up. I broke a piece of the cam plate cover, where it had already been JB Welded, so that got re-JB'ed and is drying before I can finish the install. Fingers crossed it fires up tomorrow and I didn't fuck anything up.

(although I'm secretly hoping I fucked something up catastrophically to be able to justify buying a lifan to throw in.....:anonymous:)

You can Bluetooth in but you can’t use sena mesh network with Cardo mesh network and so on

From different things I've read each "claims" to work with other brands but IRL the folks I know running com units tell me otherwise. I do long distance endurance rallies and when I first got into that I asked some of the Iron Butt Rally veterans I met what they were using figuring if anyone is going to break shit it's this group. At that time, about 7 years ago, the Sena SMH-10 was the most popular so that's what I bought. FM radio is a non issue so that feature means nothing to me. My primary concern at that time was bike to bike communication as my ex g/f rode her own bike. My original Sena lasted over 6 years with almost 0 issues. I had to replace the battery about 18 months ago. I had one issue with it in October of last year but I think I failed to properly close the little rubber sealing flap on the charging port and it got water in it from riding about 8 hours in the rain during a rally. Since I already had the base and speakers installed in my helmet I just bought another SMH-10 at Cycle Gear and plugged it in. I tried pairing Cardo Packtalk to my SMH-10 last year during the Void Rally and once more found for my riding partner and I that it knocked out our phones so we just reset both units and used our phones paired with our headsets and called each other. I will tell you the night before the rally his charging port on his Cardo broke and we had to detour to a Cycle Gear location during the rally for him to buy a replacement.

Sena and Cardo both offer decent gear so pick what the majority of people you're hoping to pair up with use and go with that. Charging while in use is important to me because of long distance rallying. None of these can stay running nonstop for 24-36 hours. My best on my Sena has been about 12-14 hours. That's running intercom on the whole time with my phone bluetoothed to it and my iPod touch playing tunes for part of the time. Whatever you buy look for updatable firmware so that the manufacturer can keep your unit supported as long as possible.

I was just reading that... Rideapart is always talking about the same shit we are in here lol

My phone battery is so terrible lately otherwise I do like the idea of an app. I'll probably get a pair of Sena's eventually.

Finally added the CT90 to my insurance today (then went and got lunch on it, fantastic burrito and chips for $6). My rate went up a WHOPPING $10.40 per year. For all three bikes I’m at $140/yr :bananadance:

    Hey team.

My rear brake won’t snap back after pushing down the pedal. It just stays down.

any ideas ? I’ve tried loosening the area where I installed my new rear brake...from cross-threads.... and it looks like the spring won’t bounce back.

If the spring isnt pushing it back then the brake pedal might be bound up somewhere? Or does it move freely with your hand?

It moves down with my hand or foot. Just doesn’t come back up... I’ve tried looking at possible blockages or of its hitting something.
    I see nothing.

I’m going to take the pin out and try rotating the spring to see if that works...

if it doesn’t then I’m lost

If it isnt coming back up id try loosening some of the hardware and see if it frees up. Dont know that rotating the spring will help any

It’s fucked. Tried every option I can think of.

Harley comes Tuesday to pick the bike up, because it’s not rideable.

First ride in 2 weeks and it started out nice! Cool weather, little breeze. But the early bands of rain from some TS in the gulf got here faster than I could make it home. Riding in rain not very exciting. Shit feels like pins and needles. Made it home wet, but safe!

Get our and ride y’all!! But not in the rain!:bikewheelie2:

    It’s okay.
Might sell the bike anyway. My new career required I get a vehicle again. So my Harley sits for days on end now. It’s a huge bummer.

If anyone is looking for a FXBB. Holla
