Doing some research on 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas/4Runners. What are you favorite places to buy parts (aftermarket) and do installs? It's always good to hear the experiences of others. If you share a shop that can do installs of parts, let me know the location of the shop.

    Thanks!

For install shops you'd get better input if you post in the regional section for where you live.

I agree with the above. Being as I was an automotive technician for about 10 years and have worked on planes for over 15 years I don't trust many shops or people with my stuff. The only thing I can't do is mounting and balancing tires and alignments, only because of a lack of equipment, not skill.

As for parts, I trust RockAuto the most for factory replacement parts. Stick with NGK/NTK, Denso and other japanese manufactured parts. Stay the F#$% away from Bosch for any part, especially O2 sensors and spark plugs/ignition products.

I agree with the NGK comment. Purchased an NTK ABS front wheel sensor recently for an '06 Avalon. These days, some of the NTK parts are made in Mexico. The electrical plug side of the sensor would not snap in solid like the OEM. Will be going back to a dealer-sourced sensor soon.
