Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests

As soon as this burn ban is over, I will be getting out pretty much every weekend! Camping just isn't the same without a campfire.

Drove some roads at Sumter this morning. Started at Woods Ferry Recreation area and hit most everything in the vicinity. No one around and a fun ride.

 

I was in Woods Ferry Sunday morning, just missed you! Think I followed your tracks around some of the down trees..

 

Probably. I drug the one back where it could be drove around through the ditch. It was totally across the road. Funny thing is it was drug there from somewhere down the road.

 

Appreciate that. Just discovered these MVUM’s and having a blast. Looking to get back out there soon and visit some new sections.

 

Agreed. There are a lot of roads in there. Plan to get back soon myself.

 

Spent a little time at Sumter this weekend. Near the Sandy River boat ramp, Enoree district. Nice quiet ride, gravel roads. First time using the Gaia app, very cool.

 

Gaia premium with the motor vehicle use map (MVUM) overlay is how I found all the roads to explore in the forest!

 

The app makes it super easy to use them! No more flipping back and forth from different maps. Thanks for the heads up on Gaia!

I did something wonky after pausing I guess. Got a straight line back to 26.
