Thanks. He wasn't a swole boi, but it'd have been new meat in the freezer. It got down into the 50s last night, but not good enough to keep.

I shot one on Oct 1st many years ago and we couldn't find it that evening; it was hot as hell (high 80's) and we didn't find it until 10am the next day, my buddy still ate ito_O. But he's an idiot.

I still haven’t put a solar panel or hooked a battery to ours. Youth day is this Saturday and I don’t know who’s more excited, our son or me.

He’s already said he wants me to take him morning and evening (mommas heartbroken but won’t admit it).

That’s why she’s been crossbow hunting whenever she wants since opening day 2 Saturday’s ago and I haven’t even shot my bow yet and I dang sure ain’t telling her I want to go yet. I did tell her opening day morning muzzle loader I won’t be here and Cole (our son) will probably be with me :D

I’m glad she’s into it, none of her family hunts and she didn’t until we started dating. She shot an 8 pt 3 years ago in full velvet and I botched the skull mount of it. All the velvet fell off. I was hoping she could get another one this year in velvet but all the pics we have now are all hard bone and the velvet is long gone.

She shot this 10 pt with her crossbow at about 12 yards from a ground blind I built out of cedar trees about 6 years ago. It was one of the biggest bodied deer I’ve ever seen around here.

Either the deer is the size of a small elk or your wife is the size of a very small woman. Perhaps both. Pretty awesome deer, especially with archery gear.

Most all of the ones I've seen on cams here have been out of velvet for weeks. We have a long season and have a TON of deer, but they're all small in comparison to other places in the country. You can find a big boi here and there, but nothing compared to elsewhere.

Hard horned up here already. Mule and Whitetail both usually start shedding start of September depending on the age of the deer. Young deer are sometimes late shedding.

our deer are 95% hard horned now. my little backyard buddy is out rite now. acorns are dropping some here and corn being cut so feeding patterns are changing.we lost one on the lease to a poacher this week. its being taken care of. not sure how big of one they shot.my son busted one 2yrs ago during season.with lots of green fields with road frontage is low population area it happens.but never twice by the ones we catch. leave it at that48BB3908-C701-402A-A002-B19007343C85.jpg
