I’m curious what multi terrain features are lost when replacing the jbl head-unit in a 20 TRD Pro. I’ve had a Sport with non jbl system that I used a Pioneer 8400 CarPlay headunit and it was great but since I’ve moved to the pro and jbl I’d like to upgrade the headunit to the 10” screen Pioneer. I just don’t want to lose all the camera views and clinometer the factory headunit shows.
Anyone done this yet? If so what did you lose if anything.
    Thanks!!

None. Unless they changed something from 17 to 20 none of the multi terrain operates through the hu.

That’s the thing they have multi terrain monitor on the hu now. Front and 2 side cameras plus clinometer. Was hoping those views might carry to an aftermarket hu if using the maestro rr.

I strongly doubt theres camera adaptors yet for the tacoma. I'd wait personally until more aftermarket support is available. Crutchfield is probably a good email to ask them these questions.

I agree though, pioneer is my go to, it makes any system sound 100x better.

Agreed. I’d reach out to Crutchfield and ask questions. Their customer support is really good.

I’m planning on calling Crutchfield this week and see what they say. Now that My TRD Pro has come in and I’ve got to try the factory hu out it’s actually not too bad. The mids and highs could be better and the sub isn’t anything spectacular it’s not awful. It’s definitely leaps and bounds better than the factory hu that was in my 17’ TRD Sport.

I’ll post my findings later this week once I call them.

Yeah when I swapped out the factory hu in the 17 TRD Sport with a pioneer unit it made a huge difference.

You’d probably be just fine swapping out the speakers and maybe adding a Kicker Key.

The only problem is it’s the jbl system. They have tied even more of the truck into the hu now.
