Now that I got your attention.. Im kind of wondering what the best way to fix this thing is going to be...

Obviously a BFH is going to be involved to get it back into shape. Im hoping to get away without having to tack weld, but Im not too optimistic about that given what I could see from below last night. Possibly a small patch riveted into place from the top side will do.

The biggest question is whats the best way to seal it all up? Clearly Id like to keep dust and water out, but the biggest concern is road salt working its way into the body. Currently looking at a standard RTV silicone sealant or some sort of 3M Seam Sealer product. The 3M stuff seems like it might be the way to go, just a matter of finding the right one and then prepping all the surfaces.

    Any input welcome.

    Damn. What did you do?

+1 on the 3m seam sealer. Used it to seal up some of the factory frame holes that were opposite of my slider mounts. I didnt want water and salt to get between the frame and the sliders via that hole. Seems to be holding up great since addressing it last year.

Truck decided to pick a fight with a part of a small tree. Both parties lost.

Do you happen to recall the exact 3M product you used? Took a quick look at their website and they have a ton of different products under that category haha

That was my initial thought as well.

And yes, going to try and bail out of work a bit early this afternoon to start tearing into it

Ahh sick, thats actually one of the ones I was already looking at. If you had to guess how much do you think a single 200mL tube would cover?
Appreciate the info man. I think I read its not good for very long after opening the tube, but appreciate the offer

With that one tube you could seal the cab front to back twice if it was a thin seam. I think it'll be more then enough for your repair area. Just make sure everything is ready to seal when you start because you only get 2 mixing tips in the package haha

You can see the factory seam seal line under the dirt.

oooof, that's a big hole. I did have something similar but not quite as bad. Mine was right on the seam so I hammered it back down, threw some ugly welds on it and then a bunch of clear silicone. No issue with it since then.
