I am so psyched Saddleback is opening back up!

They have a pretty sweet deal doing called the Test Drive Pass. 3 lift tickets for $135. I think it ends the 8th though. I think the wife and I am gonna grab one of these.

This is so awesome for the entire Rangeley area. I've skied almost all NE areas but I don't think I ever got to Saddleback.

Give it a shot! It is my favorite in the East! It is a great "Skier's Mountain" or boarder's... I personally like that it is not a luxury resort. Awesome terrain and awesome trees!!!!!!

It sits in the shadow of Sugarloaf so it is kind of a hidden gem. The only thing that drove me nuts about the place was the slow ass double lift you had to ride to get pretty much anywhere. They are replacing that with a new detachable quad so that should fix that problem.

    Good stuff!!!

Our season passes are ordered. The Highlands Pass is good at 3 areas. Our cabin is a mile from 7 Springs

I'm headed there next week!!! Hope it satisfies.
The lady and I decide to pull the trigger on the Epic Pass! Definitely a kick to the beans right away, but hoping to really get my money out of it. Local to Hunter, but plans for trips to Stowe, Park City, and Breck!!

This is kind of a crazy boot question... I have a pair of Tecnica's. I am not sure of the model.

Now, these boots are 20 years old. Yes 20! I got them in 2000. They have never let me down. My feet are never cold and they are incredibly comfortable for a ski boot. But damnit... They are 20 years old. I am getting concerned they could fail me at a bad time. I have pushed my luck this far. I am kind of a "If it aint broke, dont fix it" type of guy. Should I squeeze another year out of them?

I am afraid of a new pair for various reasons, not made as well, not as warm, not as comfortable etc...

What new boots would you recommend? Educate me!

You have something from the Diablo series most likely. They were quality boots, not known for exploding shells like some prior series for tecnica. So as long as still holding you foot secure (not packed out) and soles not worn down id say your fine.

As far as replacement options, that's kind of hard without knowing what you have. The quick obvious answer based on the fact you have a tecnica is the Mach 1 series from Tecnica. Offered in a 100-130 flex shell, and low to high volume depending on your foot.
But realistically I would not go into the purchase with any brand in mind. Every brand has big pluses over others, and makes quality boots.
I sell tecnica, salomon, atomic, dalbello, and Rossignol boots. All are great boots, just depends on the foot that needs to go in them.
I personally wear the dalbello Panterra series. Has a 3 piece cabrio shell which is different the the industry norm, but matches the shape of my foot better. Its not a boot that sold very well for us, but many of our employees wear them even though we stopped carrying them.

Half the binding, three times the work, infinitely more fun.

I probably started 18 years ago. My partner on Ski Patrol had teles. I’d try them every day and finally got a pair back then. I tried my alpine set up once after and haven’t Alpined since! I had a big fat pair of twin tip teles. It’s fun

I was a snowboarder from the get go, used to teach back in college, until my wife gave me a pair of meadow skipping boots and BC skis for Christmas 7 years ago. After our first day out I was itching to try them downhill. Got out once on them at a mountain and decided I wanted more of that, picked up some used DH gear we found in a shop on our way home and the only times I've been back on the board since have been when friends wanted me to teach them.

I’ve worked in a ski shop for 10 years at this point and for the most part we tell
People that 10yrs is when you really have to start looking into new boots, less if you ski a lot or there not stored properly. Good news is that almost all the major brands out there make a really good product. My suggestion is forget about brands and go to a good shop and try on a few options and let your foot decide what works.

Good advice for just about any sporting equipment, helmets, boots, gloves, outerwear...but especially PPE and what I call 'interface' pieces (ski/snowboard boots, bicycle grips/and saddles, for example). Different models, even within a brand, are designed to fit differently in a lot of cases. A piece of gear that I LOVE, might not work for you because your body is shaped differently than mine.
