    Hey y’all,

I need some help! I’m one of those yokels who accidentally drained their transmission pan instead of their oil pan. Gotta pay better attention. Anyway, I am NOT one of those folks who did anything else because I know enough about my truck to function but not enough to fly blind. (I did read the thread of the dude who put the fluid in the coolant reservoir. Woof).

So I started watching videos and they all say I should drain and then put the fluid back in the fill hole. Well, simple enough as that sounds, my pan only has ONE bolt, the one I unscrewed. What gives?

Every video I look at says very matter of factly, drip bolt, overflow bolt, fill bolt. Where are my other bolts? Am I missing something here? I checked three times and the pan I unscrewed only has one bolt. I am beyond frustrated. Please help :) Thanks!

Assuming an automatic transmission? Are you one of the lucky people with a transmission dip stick?

I can't wait for the day someone drains a manual transmission instead of the engine oil...doing it on an auto is a facepalm moment but at least the auto trans pan makes it somewhat more understandable if you were having a blonde moment.

With the manual trans drain plug literally being on the transmission itself...that would take a special kind of brain fart to make that mistake happen lol.

The A340 has a dipstick. It should be under the hood and have a red handle, the engine oil dipstick has a yellow handle/pull loop.

Yup, found it tucked away in there. I saw so many of these videos with the three bolts that I thought there was no way my truck had a dipstick. Great! Thanks y’all!
