The shell n your truck should help stream line the air over the trailer. Mine is about the same.

I'm hoping to make some headway starting Friday. I don't have anything important planned, so I should be able to fool with the trailer a bit.

I'm not worried about MPG's at all. I blew that with the lift and all the weight I've added  I've decided to just get it on the road and see how it pulls, then I'll make a decision.

I wasn't really reffering to the mpg's but your concern over how it would tow. With the flat front on the camper I have about the same situation but the soft top or in your case a shell will help deflect the wind over the trailer. More tongue weight helps also.

Oh yeah, I figured that....I just assumed you would know what I was talking about...…….and you know what they say about assumptions  I didn't even think about my shell helping, so that's a plus
The huge flat spot is my only concern(especially with how high it sticks up even on the truck). I drove a TJ for 9tyrs, so I've never cared about MPG's

I would think it'll tow fine but about the only way to really know is to get it on the road and find out

I really hope it does well. I like the fact if needed, I could hangout in the camper during rain and still be somewhat comfortable.

Oh you'll add an awning and a pop up and you will find it very comfortble. Check this awning out it is made to fit on the back of a truck with a cap or a minivan. I adapted it to our camper and we have really enjoyed it. It is inexpensive, doesn't take long to put up, and stores in a light weight compact bag.

The one we have is made by Hasika but this looks to be the same one. It is also height adjustable by adding or deleting pole sections

I've definitely checked out your thread. I would really like to eventually get an owning with the room to go with it.

The room is deffinately handy I have thought about one myself. We just use a commercial grade pop up and got the wall sections for it at least for now. Either allow nice additional dry space

I don't have the money to just buy things without knowing good and well that I will use them. I'm sure after a trip or two, things that I need/want will become more evident. I do have A LOT of things I've found that would be cool though

Oh believe me I understand that. We started with a few things we knew we needed having camped for years we already had some stuff. We keep a note pad with us and when we think of something we need or could use we either get it or I make it. One thing I will suggest you consider if you haven't already is stbalizers front and back so when you unhook and want to camp in it it will be stable also some levellers these make levelling quick and easy.

I have a a tongue jack on each side up front and thought about scissor jacks at each rear corner. I use a set of fake maxtrax for the truck right now :D

Or even a set of these

Ought to be just as bad as people pulling a box trailer. It's a big flat on the front.

That looks more involved than other awnings I've seen. How's the setup?

I think I'll go with a fox/bat wing awning if I ever do one myself. Having 180 degrees of fold out awning would be nice.

Only pulled utility trailers, car haulers, and boat trailers. I'm probably just over thinking it :D

Setup is easy and pretty strait forward. The first couple of times it’s a little slower but an easy process. I do it by myself and have it put together and attached in like 10 minutes then just have to put on the tie down strings for the poles
