Hi Everyone! New kid on the block kinda.

I have a question for those with a 4wd 3rd gen who have been running the 3rd gen Bilstein 5100 and OME coils (885, 6, 7, or even eibach or toytec springs). Talks about this setup are all over TW, so I'm aware of the sagging issues because of the weight of the 3rd gen. However, the posts I've been reading were from a few years back and wanted to see if anyone has any updates on this setup? Did it sag anymore? Did you dump this setup for something else? Did things settle after a year?

My goal is to get 2" in the front and 1.5" in the rear. I have a 2020 4dr, Sport, 4wd. However, with this COVID thing going on, I probably won't be doing any lifting anytime so I'm just doing my homework now.

Bonus question! Anyone in Honolulu have a similar setup? Also, did you do install the ECGS bushing and have the removal tool that I can buy? lol...

    Thanks!

Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
Keep your factory coils to keep the lifetime warranty on the 5100s and you won't get the sag. I did the ECGS clam shell bushing replacement for preventive maintenance.

Chances are that's probably the route I'll take. However, for now just wanted to get a feel on what other people did and their current experiences...

Im gonna be using these coils with 5100's. Its rated for 2in up front and made by eibach. You're better off letting coils fo the lift for you than preload

Hey. I don't post too often on here, but figured I could possibly help out. My current set up is as follows:

    Fronts:
Bilstein 5100's with OME 887 Coils (perch ring set at lowest setting)

    Rears:
Bilstein 5100's with stock leaf springs and a 2.5 spacer block

    running 285/75/16 BFGoodrich Ko2's

FYI, I purchased my entire setup used from a member on here a few months ago. Ive put on maybe around 3-4k miles on them so far; however, previous owner claims to have used the suspension for about a year. Was a bit skeptical on that because the shocks looked like they've been on his truck for over a year, but who knows... I honestly didn't really care too much at the price I got them for. I imagine these have pretty much settled down since these have been used up quite a bit. Here's some measurements I took with everything. Top measurements are from fender arch to ground and bottom measurements is from fender arch to center of wheel hub

Thanks! That's kinda the information I was curious about. Seems like this is the amount of settlement everyone was getting after a year or 2. I was also curious to see what the experience is now from those that had it on for 3-4 years. One of the biggest reasons I would pick up the 2887 over the Wheelers is because shipping to Hawaii cost an arm and a leg and then a little more. For kicks, I went all the way to the shipping part and the coils would cost $80 just to ship lol.

Again, probably wont lift my truck anytime soon tho... Just collecting knowledge from others as I was for all this Covid issue to settle.

Research a little more and I can speak from experience that no matter what settings the 5100s are set at it does not pre load the shock and the ride is the same. I have mine set on 4 and my sons is on 5. Both trucks are identical as in tires, wheels, lift etc. These springs that are giving you lift are sagging and don't have the same spring weight as the factory coils.
