Does anyone have a link to an alternate source for the track nuts that fit the UpTop roof racks?

I can’t imagine people paying the $2.50 per screw, plus tax, plus shipping.

    Did you ask @upTOPoverland ?

Their customer service is pretty darn good.

OTOH that does seem kinda steep for a screw. Is that the price from their website? Not in a position to look right now...

yea, that’s their price. but honestly, I feel it’s a bit over priced, but I may just pay it... their Customer service response time is good, and that holds character.

I’ve had bad customer service Experience during this pandemic.

You can also get them from here: https://www.tnutz.com/

but they are still like $1.25 a piece and that’s without the bolt and washer. I don’t think @upTOPoverland is asking too much. I only tried other sources for faster delivery. You can also find them cheaper on Amazon but I don’t trust the quality.

No doubt. I always had pretty good luck with online orders prior to the 'rona, but since it seems really hit or miss, even with companies I usually deal with.

TracNUTs, bolts, washer and lock washer. For a kit. But I promise, we are not getting rich off of tracNUTs

I got them directly from tnutz website. Was worried about the quality of parts on Amazon. Can’t have stuff flying off my roof.

Did you try Deez? Deez Nuts. haha. Sorry, i'm two bourbons in on a Saturday night. It had to be done.

Seriously. steep cost for nuts, but I bit the bullet. Shipped super fast also. Now if they will just ship my actual rack, i'll be in business. Two months since I ordered.

Lead time for a rack last year was quite a bit but im on you guys same boat I have everything I need from uptop for my bravo. Scenepod, Baja lights, extremeLed for the front, and I was dumb enough to order a thin fin and harness but I had a 2020. They took it back and refunded me. Yes I had to pay shipping and I wish I would of bought this dam tracknutz!! They should send u like 8 at least with ur rack and juat charge charge extra 20 bucks right of the bat. Cause now they have us wanting them but looking for them elsewhere just bc of shipping.
But like some of you I will most likely get them straight from uptop and support the cause. They good peeps!

Picked these up locally today. Uptop definitely has better pricing since it’s a complete kit, but I didn’t pay any shipping and can cobble together my own kit as needed. Paid $21 for a 15 pack of the drop in t-nuts with 1/4-20 bolts. Either way it’s not going to break the bank.
    https://www.grainger.com/product/FAZTEK-Drop-in-T-Nut-10-Series-1PEF7

EDIT: corrected this with the proper series 10 product, accidentally linked the series 15 product which doesn’t fit the rack.

Doubt I can revive the thread but there has to be a better way to mount stuff to the UpTop load bars. I didn't mind spending the money on the tracnuts (even if they're overpriced lol) but I just don't trust them. They come loose so easily and there's no way to really tell if they're turned and secure. Anyone used a better t-nut or carriage bolt? I briefly poked around on the links above but I only saw the same type of drop in nuts.

FWIW, (and its not an issue with any rack company brand, its just 80/20 extrusion in general) I've had issues with the t-slot type bolts for that exact reason. I have a DIY rack using the same 80/20 extrusion load bars, and the twist in type of bolts are a pain for me. I've had them twist in, tighten down, and find out a year later it was never truly seated. Luckily a few other bolts were holding my accessory down. I've also snapped two of them in half. All that being said, anything I mount moving forward will likely just be with carriage bolts and I'll remove one side of the bar completely to slide them in. The twist in ones are just a little too sketchy for me.

Edit: I'm talking about something different than Uptop's tracnuts, sorry. I'd trust those more than the twist in bolts I'm referring to.

Yeah this is exactly what I've experienced. There's nothing wrong with theirs. I just want something better for piece of mind.
@upTOPoverland is there anything you've used or recommend? Thanks!
