One thing I haven't seen people mention either is the gear ratios are different on a manual. I'm sure you could run it with AT gears if you wanted, but I figured I'd mention it

Well, if you rip out all the electronics, convert to carb, and an aftermarket gauge package, should be pretty straightforward! Keeping all the functionality, as OE, will not be. This might be that opportunity to do that LS + 6 speed swap you have been eyeing, with the Holley Sniper EFI? You know, that one?

Trade your truck in it'll cost way less than a manual swap

Trade it in for a 6MT. That's what I did. When I did it (Oct 2019), there was hardly any difference in price between a used 2016 AT and a new 2020 MT. Prices may have changed since then.

FT-LBs doesn't change. 'Car' motor, 'truck' motor, V6, or V8.

The 3.5l works and the HW is excellent. It's a little 2mb file that caused much consternation with the TW masses. It's a software problem. In some threads here, some $$$ hardware isn't helping because of that 2mb file.

The whole LS swap is just BS. Wake me up when it really happens.

Hell. AT folks that I have been interacting with lately are  , when they see what they really have.

Just wait a few years, some crazy bastard here may put in an LS1 or similar. Perhaps a salvage truck, but it may not be any more expensive than $10k twin turbos.

With the right platform, it makes a ton of sense. Say, a well-flooded and cheap 3rd gen? I'd do it in a heartbeat if the auction was cheap enough.

It'll be about as much news as this:
    upload_2020-9-23_11-9-32.jpg

About three threads and done. That's a car motor also.

Otherwise, there are a few folks with 400ft-lb+ Tacos already. They get a blurb here or there. Sorry, but this is just an old trope that won't change the dynamic around here.

Let's talk about the 4th Gen hybrid. :bananadead:

I don't disagree, but for the million times that it has been mentioned, because we got a car motor, it is just worn me out. It's a problem on this end of the keyboard. :hattip:

To me, an LS swapped 3rd Gen is equivalent to the Trophy Rat.

Fucking hybrids. Less HP, better mpg, sure the batteries last 10 years, but they all cost more. Fucking hybrids.

And just saw the 2021 Sienna Van is 4cy hybrid only. Up to 33mpg, but 50 less HP. That vehicle is a big pig.

    Sweet! Now we're getting somewhere!

I hate 'em also. Carrying two engines and power sources (fuel and batteries) is stupid. Gimme ICE or EV. There's no middle ground.

And that is close to what I would be after! The reason you haven't seen this yet is 3rd gens are just too expensive! Now we have the thread all jacked up....sorry OP, carry on.....

Agreed. The biggest joke about hybrids is they "assist" in better mpg, but cost more so it's a wash financially. And when the big battery (now 10 yr warranty) craps out (up to $6k to replace) the entire vehicle is inoprerable even though the engine is fine.
