OK so about to buy a 2020 TRD off-road. Question I’m looking to get a set of king suspension for the truck.
Are people still running into the bearing issue when lifting these trucks?

Remember how beat your MR2 felt after you modded the heck out of it? Tacoma will feel the same way. Drive it stock for at least a year.

I've done just about every trail my friend with huge suspension has done.

Just trying to see if people have been replacing that when they do their suspension or if they have had no problems

3rd Gen OR suspension, wheels and tires all 4 corners.
Kings are for desert racing and jumping, put the money towards your kids college tuition, or an extended vacation with your already extremely capable truck.
Or to put it another way, see what the truck does without mods, I bet you’ll be impressed.

And if you’re willing to spend king shock kind of money why you worried about some bearings?

Look I don’t need Financial help or whatever. Just asking if people have been having problems with the needle bearing.

Why spend for an off road if the first thing you’re doing is ditching the suspension that you’re paying more for up front?

spend less. Get an SR or SR5 and spend less than the difference in an aftermarket locker.

or get a sport and get a skewp hood, either for the insta or trade it for a non skewp and a few hundred bucks. And then do the locker.

(I have a 2020 OR and my only regret is not going a lower trim instead, but I’m leaving it stock to about 40 to 50k miles, end of next summer ish probably. Only skids and sliders until then).

Do it once and do it right. Put in the ecgs bushing.

Just run it stock first like the other feller said, you won’t be disappointed.
    Sorry for trolling, later!

Get kings if you want them.

If you're doing any suspension work like that, just throw in the bearing. Its been known to go out on even stock trucks.

Welcome to TW! I recognize your user name from another forum...you have/had a F? :D

i lifted my 2020 Tacoma OR after 2 months of having it and 1500 miles on it with Kings and did the bearing and UCA at the same time. No issues for me and no need to go back to to anything twice.

The bearing is relatively cheap and you’ll have most of the suspension parts off anyways, might as well do it. Same with the UCA.

I also got a scooped hood and Volks so maybe don’t take my advice :anonymous:

I lifted my truck 6 months after having it.

On my motorcycle, day after I bought it, started throwing $ into it.

I did bp51s all around and did not replace the needle bearing. It's on my list, but I have no evidence I need it. No vibrations or rattles here.
