My 2017 isn't on the list either. As a matter of fact, when I run my VIN, I have 0 recalls somehow.

So I just called again to a local Toyota dealer and had them run my vin number for the Frame service campaign. I was advised that my Vehicle is NOT effected. I beg to differ from my pictures.

I'd get that thing coated up with Woolwax/FF ASAP regardless of what they have to say.

For what it's worth, my 17 looks very similar to yours when I got it last March. I did Woolwax soon after and it looks like it's protected now. I wish I had before pics, but here is what it looks like now.

Yep, sooner the better you take care of that surface rust. They sell a rustoleum paint spray that converts the rust to black paint. I've seen it used on chassis before...after that spray it down with fluid foam, or any other good rust encapsulator.

Thanks. I did it on my own with a basic compressor and the Woolwax kit from Amazon. Took about 2 hours, but I got every single square inch. I'm hopeful next year will just be what I can see and not all the cavities.

This morning I went to the Dealership for a NYS inspection and frame check. I was informed by the service tech that my area does not have ANY information/ guidance , service tech training, product or any future date to begin this service. The tech said that Toyota is doing the frame service by region. I find this kind of odd based on NYS is probably in the top 3 states for rust on vehicles ( we use salt during the winter). I was advised to keep on checking with the dealership in the coming months.
Has anyone else experienced this happening at their dealership ?

Went to 2 Toyota Dealerships in PA (one was the dealership where I got the truck)...They inspected the frame and said it was fine and didn't require anything....Looks like i'm gonna have to do it myself...Film Fluid / Woolmax. Doesn't seem like the dealership is going to go out of their way. P.S. I have the extended 7 year warranty and everything..

Yeah that doesn't sound right scorpion ny is horrible, were all in the rust belt here,I'd be calling Toyota and finding out.these trucks are not cheap. and if nothing is done rust will be through in only a few years.im in pa and mine is getting done now.also seems that depending on dealership they take a different approach as mine is only getting treated on inside of frame so once I get it back I'm gonna be on my back treating the outside.good luck winter is coming

Picked up my '20 in Aug and haven't done anything for rust proofing yet. I know there are a lot of opinions out there but I'm just confused as to which way to go. I don't like the idea of having to re-apply each year. I also don't like the idea of spending hundreds of $. The dealership offered to undercoat at the time of purchase but I declined. Can someone tell me what/how the dealer does the undercoating here in the NE?
