Had all 4 put on my stock 2002 taco 4x2 and the result seems a little off. The front is almost 3" higher than the rear but since they are new maybe they'll settle? The plan was to replace them all due to age and be able to tow a medium sized trailer. The shop put the fronts on the highest setting.

    Questions:

Will the sag look ridiculous when towing?
Should I have the fronts moved to the mid setting or level up the back?
If I level up the back should I use a leaf block or Add on leaf?

    Thanks for your input!

Level up the back with a aal and probably a 1 inch block or get yourself a new leaf pack.
The rear shocks don't provide lift just absorb bumps. The leaf pack provides the lift.
Probably a med Dakar or deaver pack or heavy duty depends on how much you tow.

Sorry I should have mentioned I don’t tow often - would both an aal and a block make the normal ride really stiff?

If you get the 2 inch aal... most are 1.5 inch of lift. That's why I say the block. If you went 3 in the front, you need 2 in the back to get level. The ride will be a little stiff, but a better.

I'm a little confused. Did you intend to raise the front without raising the rear, ala carolina squat, going for a lift, or were you just replacing old shocks? If you were going for a lift, then yeah, lift the rear. If not, have the shop put the 5100s on the lower setting so the ride won't be like crap.

Thanks for asking. Since its an '02 and I was told the leafs and shocks were sagging I thought to replace the shocks (and put in an add a leaf) before a big towing trip. I don't care either way if it is lifted so much.
