bought a 2005 tubdra 4x4. 2 previous owners, 1st owner had it for 36k miles.

Paid 8,500. Zero rust, socal truck currently has 187k miles. How did i do? Only scare thing is I don't think the timing belt has ever been done yet so I'm doing it asap. Anything else to replace?

    Big things to check are:
    Rear ebrake pivots
Lower ball joints, they fail and its huge
rack and pinion, they leak and the bushings wear
    rear axle seals

I would do the water pump when you do the timing belt. That's a good time to drain all the coolant as well. Drain and fill all the fluids while your at it.

I can't believe how quiet and comfortable the ride is compared to my former 2018 taco. It's hard to believe it has almost 200k

nice nice nice, sometimes they will put a sticker on the timing cover area somewhere with a date and miles written on it if the timing belt was ever done, if the shops name was on the sticker you may be able to find out what maintainence or repairs were ever done to the truck, might save some $$$$ on service that's already been done:thumbsup:

I ran a carfax and the 2nd owner bought it at 36k miles so there's no way the first owner did it. The 2nd owner was an older middle age gentleman and he said he never did the timing belt, just regular oil changes

heres a Toyota site you can run the VIN maybe dig a little infos
    https://www.toyota.com/recall
I think the timing belt with all the bells and whistles is about $1000+-, I think they are replaced every 90k-100k miles? I let my 3.4l belt go to 110k miles had no noticeable effects going over 90k miles

Do the slyfox75 SAIP bypass. You don't have to read all of that thread, just read the last few pages, email slyfox75, order the kit and install it.
