Hello all, first post and first time tacoma owner here.

I have 2018 TRD-OR and installed the Raptor style lights and used the supplied fuse adapter(pigtail directly into the fuse block, DRL) to run them in conjunction with my DRL. Here is the issue, they are always on and will not turnoff, even if the truck is off? The DRLs work normally and I have even tried other fuse locations. With the pigtail in and no secondary fuse the DRLs work perfect and turn off when truck does. When I add the fuse, they still work normally, but the Raptor lights are always on. I checked the ground a few times and even got another pigtail from Autozone, still the same issue.

So what am i doing wrong?

Pictures and/or a diagram of how you wired it? Have you checked the fuse(s) to ensure they're switched power? No idea, but it's entirely possible that the DRLs are ground-side switched on a line out of the ECM/BCM and powered by a always hot circuit.

Gotta be an always hot circuit. A better choice would be to tap IGN or the like that is a keyed fuse

Thanks all, I used the H/L headlight fuse and it works fine. I seems if the DRL is used they are always on, found similar threads and with the same issue.

It's because the DRL fuse is always "hot"/energized. See the drawing..says Battery on top. In other fuses it may say IGN for ignition.

Did you get the DRL harness ? That’s the only one I’d trust.

R4T harness doesn’t work with 2020 LED headlights.

Yep get the Runnin 4 tacos harness and skip all this mess. Works great on my 2020 taco. (I don’t have fancy headlights, that’s why harness works on my 2020.)
