I'm thinking of getting a set of these:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CXSVODO/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_btf_t1_QNMAFbJXQVZSP

It seems it's possible to swap the nut without deflating/dismounting the tire, but has anyone here done it? I figure if I rotate the wheel so the stem is in the 12 o'clock position, I won't lose the sensor inside the wheel if I lose air pressure. I should have plenty of room to grip the stem just in case.

    Question:
    do these fit Acura/Honda?
    Answer:
I'm almost positive. I bought them for a 2012 Mazdaspees 3. Research on Google see if they are the same size. I think they are

    Question:
Do you have to break tires bead?
    Answer:
No, these install over the valve stems from the TMPS. This is the nut to hold the TMPS sensor to the rim.

    Question:
What is the length of these nuts?
    Answer:
I do not know exact length but it may be lost in product description. It should be a 100% universal part. I am pretty sure that all TPMS kits that are solid metal are all the same exact size. They are super cheap so should kill you if they don't work for some reason

    Question:
Does the product come with install instructions?
    Answer:
No need for instructions Simply unscrew the stock covers and replace them with the new (black) ones. Don't over tighten them. Finger tight and maybe 1/4 a turn more is all.

I saw all that. I had seen a lot of Corvette people doing it. No one with a Toyota had chimed in. I'll try it and see what happens.

I did it on my 08 last summer when I had my wheels recoated. I took off the OEM stem nuts and put on powder coated black. One wheel had a smal leak while I was making the switch but it wasn't a big deal. If you take your time and be gentle you should be fine. Just don't push it in and break the seal while you are turning the nut.

Swapped them out. Took about 5 minutes.
I could have sworn the stock nuts on my Tacoma were metal, so I wasn't expecting them to be plastic on the 4Runner.

Nice and subtle difference, looks good mate. I need to check all my stems cause i don't trust they're tightened down properly. One always gives me a small leak over a period of time and last time I went to take the cap off the entire stem started to turn and i lost a bunch of air. HAHAHA Hulk put the damn cap on apparently.

I didn't even know these were a separate part and could be swapped. Learn something new every day I guess.

Yep. Don't recall if this is the exact type I bought, but here they are. These are the TPMS nuts only. If you go this route you'll also need to get black stem covers... https://www.amazon.com/Muzzys-10001...m&qid=1601069006&sprefix=tpms,aps,157&sr=8-18

Can you do this why the tire is on the truck? Or would it be better just to give to to Discount tire guys for when they swap over my sensor to my new wheels?
