Floor boot on. Still haven’t figured out the FJ shift so it doesn’t hit everything. But I’ll save that for another day.

It definitely runs better now. Much easier to get up to speed, maintain speed on small hills and accelerate in traffic.

Have noticed some slight engine differences. I no longer hear whatever air pump (secondary air injection?) makes noise at start up and shutdown. Anyone know what’s up with that?

Your probably going to have to do something simmilar to what i did. Cut the shifter right before the bend from the tcase side. Weld the oped end of a 13mm socked to the nub sticking up out of the tcase. weld some 1/3 round tell to the other end to space it out and then weld the open end to that. Then insert the other end of the FJ handle into the closed end and weld. It should be spaced out enough then.

My welds are shitty and that’s an old pic but you should get the idea lol

I couldn’t make it work this way. Ended up moving the t-case shifter to the left.

One from what I've seen you can make the twins work in a single. RSTs has a few I've been looking at as inspiration for my Verso case install.

Yup. Plenty of clearance in 4LO.

How do they do it in the FJs so they don't interfere, or did they never come manual? This seems to be a common issue when switching to manual cases with a MT

The console has a bigger hole for the shifters to fit. And I believe the transmission shifter is bent slightly different to position it slightly to the left to give clearance for the t-case shifter.

you answer your own question there then. Get an FJ transmission shifter from an RA61F and put in taco trans

I have a 4-cylinder with an R-156 transmission. I’m not sure the shifter would work.

oh, yeah the base may not be the same. When we did Craig’s truck we used a hurst shifter and it moved it far enough out of the way to make everything work.

I just made a new shaft for the FJ shifter and moved it to the left where there is lots of room. Was a pain in the ass but it’s done. Just gotta mod the boot cover.
