So I installed the Cali Raised Tailgate CB/LED Pod/Accessory Mount (Driver Side), with the intention of mounting a mobile antenna (CB for now).

Setup is a Browning flat coil antenna (also have a 4' Firestick I tried); 18' of fire-ring cable; AT6666 in the cab.

Right off the bat, I'm getting astronomical SWR... 12.x +

I understand that this may be a grounding issue (already checked for cable shorts, all good).

What have you folks with similar setups to mine done for grounding? I scraped off the mount powder coating where it matters, but no joy. Pic for reference... HELP, please!

Run a temporary grounding cable to the grounding rod of your house. (I can almost see it in the picture) If you are still getting astronomical SWR, then perhaps it's not a grounding issue? Just a quick thought.
