Added some new Low Range off road flexy fender flares to the rig, they work really well. Super happy with them so far.

I also learned that the hardest part of this operation is the inner fender liner push pins. That was until I got the correct tool. Now its no problem at all. I did the 1st one and struggled with out it. Bought the tool and waited until it arrived to do the passenger and it was a night and day difference in time and struggle required.

Bit overcast today, but it was a very warm fall day, 20 C out in the bush. Jeremiah finished up his new bumpers and sliders on his heep, so we went out to play around. He made a bad choice to not use a bypass. Ended in me pulling him out of the hole after his rig filled with a bit of water. Then his pants exploded

    Awesome day in the end.

    Mud is kinda fun....:cookiemonster:

Then no fun.... Have to wash all that synthetic line stuffs

    Things are progressing good sir!

One of the last parts for the winch arrived today.

Wife and I will shorten my 100ft synthetic line tonight to a 60ft extension and 40ft to wrap on the winch. :bananadance:

Im curious why you're going to do this?

You'll loose however much you need to make the splice on each end. So might end up with 35' on the drum, and a 55' extension.

Less wraps on the winch the better. This is what I have come to learn from watching video's and discussing the matter with my close friend who I wheel with every weekend.

Yes it maybe short, but nothing stopping me from just buying another 100' extension. :notsure: The wife ensured it was 40' feet after the splice on the winch roll, so the extension is the short part.

Cant have to much recovery gear, especially when its synthetic line that weights nothing :cookiemonster:

Got the winch installed last night, only took about 6 hours

Had to slightly modifiy the selenoid casing to fit the box we wanted to mount it in.

Then slice a small corner off the bumper so it did not contact the box.

    :smokertransformer:

Found some cracks on the front rad support area's of my truck, on both sides. Drilled a hole at the top most point of each crack to try and stop them from spreading. It is very thin gauge metal that is cracked, not really sure about this.

Take a read through these thread:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...all-now-with-pictures-and-a-video-too.432885/

Id look into replacing the two front core support bushings with the ones from the 8.4109G kit asap.

Yea I did the radiator support bushings already. As described in that thread, 'Upside down' with the larger one on top.

Guess I need to do the body mounts as well.

Oh damn.. Did you use the 'generic' ones, or the 8.4109G kit meant for these trucks? I tried the generic ones for a few months and was not impressed with the fit. Swapped em out for the real ones that are actually cupped to fit into the frame horns

@SR-71A @llamasmurf Does the 8.4101G kit have all of the bushings to do the entire truck including radiator supports? I am about to order it as well to do my whole truck and I didn't know if I need to buy something extra or if this kit will do the whole truck and all of the bushings.

Yup that has all six. Four big ones for the body, and two smaller ones for the front portion / the core supports.

I guess I need to buy the proper set, since I seemed to have put on the 'generic' set.

Mine are cracked too....it’s the vibrations. The worst!

nice job on the winch install! I’m looking forward to getting my synthetic winch in. Have to get all new gear as everything I had was for the steel cable
