I’m stocked up for at least an election cycle .... With the exception of #10 caps for a black powder revolver I wanna shoot . Guess I’ll keep pinching #11’s down tight .

48 more rounds of 200gr Hornady 300wm, would have been 50 rounds but I had two damaged pieces of brass in my new bag of virgin brass :annoyed:

How common do you think that is? What was the defect you found?

Out of the 500 rounds I have done myself I am at two bad pieces. One had an ultra thin sidewall on about a 1/4 of the neck, like paper thin. The second had what I could best describe as a tear in the neck.

Gotcha. I’m still pretty new to this so I wasn’t sure just how common that is. Thanks.

It happens. Whenever Id buy new .223 brass every now and then Id find one with a defect that warrants the brass to be junk. Maybe one or two out of a few hundred.

It gets super frustrating on the oddball calibers where brass is over .50 cents per piece. Which is why nowadays I buy new ammo just for the brass.

    74 Hornady xtp 147s

For some 45 or possibly 44 projectiles
    Any interest ?

Took out my first ever loads I did solo yesterday. I’m officially hooked on this. Shot 30 rounds with Hornady and Nosler bullets. Hornady had much tighter groups out of my rifle so I’ll start working with those for my fall hunt.

No interest so far so I guess I’ll load these and burn through them next range trip

Any 6.8 SPC loaders in here? I just ordered my dies to load 6.8, I have a source who's sending me 90 grain gold dot projectiles because he's awesome and I also ordered some 100 grain Nosler accubonds. I have a local source for powder and primers, I know for sure he has these powders in stock
Are there any other powders I should consider? shooting for about 2750 FPS out of a 12.5" barrel (hot load, I know) with the 90 grain gold dots.

I got my reloading bench in the shed cleaned up a little bit, I also received my order of accubonds today as well.

My Frankford Arsenal wet tumbler showed up, so I tossed in some 300wm brass from a couple weeks back for the initial clean before depriming and sizing.

If you reload a lot and been doing it for awhile, we have gone through shortages of powder, primers and bullets but not at the same time.
I learned a lesson a few years ago to buy it when it’s available. Some might say it’s hoarding but for me it’s good planning.
I also have 3 other good friends that reload so we’re always trading components.

I don’t over pay for my stuff and don’t over charge for it if I sale it.
I’ve seen spp sale for $100 a box.

I spent $0.47 on hardware to mount the press, got it mounted, stapled the primer tube out of the way, and got the LED light hung. I also realized that sometime in the past few days my dies and bushings had arrived but nobody had told me.

I also ended up moving my powder dropper, it was slightly interfering with the stud.

And I managed to get the little detent on the press stuck in a downward position.

Looks like your off to a good start. I’ve changed my reloading bench around 4 times and it works great but now that I’m older I’m going to change it around again to make it more comfy for me.

Thanks! Yeah, I used it at an old house a few years ago for a short time, the tumbler goes on the shelf underneath, I can work in the center, and I have plenty of room to charge cases after prep, and then lots of room when I’m running the press. It works pretty well.
I’m sure stuff will get moved as I spend more time with it.

Just wait till you’ve done a couple hundred rounds and then you buy a higher mount, that’s just me speaking from experience
