2016 Tacoma Limited with 18” stock wheels

Hello all!

I just got lucky enough to inherit my father-in-laws 2016 Tacoma 4x4 Limited with the stock 18” rims. (He just got a 2020 TRD Sport with the 6’ bed and longer wheel base!).

I’ve been foraging the forums trying to get some concrete information on the stock 18’s, most info is on 16/17. Tires are the first thing I want to upgrade, but I don’t want to mess with the suspension just yet.

I’m looking for a tire that won’t rub at all and I don’t want to remove/cut mud flaps or anything.

Stock is 265/60/18.

Am I safe to go 265/65/18?

Is anyone able to speak from 18” stock experience?

I'm on the hunt for this exact information, I have a 2020 Limited w/ 18's and would like something a little taller without lifting the truck or doing anything crazier than tires, while keeping the stock wheels.

 

Yes...the size difference wont even be noticeable for the most part...
All tire makers sizes are not equal. BFG KO2 265's and Toyo AT 265's aren't exactly the same size etc etc.

Find out what tire you want and tell the local tire shop to order that tire in a couple various sizes. Discount Tire for example will mount up tires for test fitting and more often then not, not charge you a stocking fee. I've had them mount tires to my spare rim for me to take home to test fit. Then just return it the next day for free.

Take your time and make an informed decision.

 

265/65/18 will fit. 275/65/18 may require some fender molding
