I need help finding what kind of bulb I need for the lights behind my climate controls. They're a lot smaller than the bulbs behind my gauge cluster. Both bulbs are burnt out and have no lettering or anything on them to identify them.

    They are 74s.

I’m going to double check some threads. But while we are talking about it they DID change something from 03, to 04. My 03 can’t be dimmed with the LEDS but my 04 can.

Does anyone know how to fix the sockets if you install a new #74 light bulbs in the climate control and it doesn't work?

I believe the filaments are directional too.

I found out what my issue was. Apparently there's different sized bases for 74 bulbs (or at least the LEDs). I ordered T5 74 LEDs, but I actually needed T1 3/4 74 LEDs. I checked the dimensions of a standard halogen 74 bulb, and it matched up with this and this. They have base type W2.1x4.9d. The T5 LEDs I bought have no dimensions listed and they work as a glovebox light. Guess I just needed to do a little more research.

TLDR: T5 74 LED is NO GOOD, buy base type W2.1x4.9d

Any suggestions for climate control bulbs to not burn out or cause damage to the board. I have had to replace bulbs 2-3 times a year, and have soldiered new spots back on the board due to the bulbs scratching the copper contact.
Yea bulbs would stop working and if ya tap they come back on but not after 4-5 times of doing it.
Ideas…? Next step is ordering new climate control

Replacing them with anything other then Toyota parts results in some I’ll fitting bulbs that you try to force in and end up damaging the board, ask me how I know.

Did some fabrication to the board and lights work, also had to repair switches. Everything is fully operational . looks like factory.
