All in all definitely there is an extra step involved with making sure one is unplugged before plugging in the other one. Oh well. Kinda sucks for me, I installed the "screw-in" outlet in an awkward place before the recall, not anticipating to unplug the fridge for a while. Although, my solar set up still keeps up, so there is no need to connect the fridge to AC power just yet.

I was thinking about a situation like this. Idk if it would work with your set up but you could wire an inline switch into your power source. That way you don’t have to actually unplug it.

Yes, I think I will actually get one of those four way panels, and install two sets of switches and outlets on separate circuits.

I think the main issue is not the inconvenience of having to unplug it. It’s the damage that happens to your truck if you forget. I assume Dometic isn’t picking up the tab for the repair. Personally I know I’d forget at some point and burn something up.

Hmm, I didn't even get the Recall Remedy sticker yet to remind me. Did you?

I don’t have the new model fridge. I thought about upgrading but the recall is a no go for me. Like I said, I’ll forget and mess something up. A sticker isn’t gonna be enough.

The kicker to that is it’s not a guarantee it’ll happen but merely a possibility. So if you do forget, it’s not like your truck will instantly burn down.

Maybe. No guarantee that the recalled Harbor Freight jack stands will collapse and kill you either but I’m not buying them. I have bad luck.

@Dometic its been almost a month since I returned my fridge for a reimbursement and I haven't heard back from you guys. I sent two emails on separate occasions to get an update and I have call a few occasions to be put on hold for long periods of time with out been able to talk to someone about my refund.

I submitted all the info requested and tracking shows you guys got the fridge back on September 23. I understand this things take time but a bit better communication would be appreciated.

Anyone here that made a return had gotten their money back??? I'm going now on two months since I started my return do to the recall and still @Dometic hasn't sent me my money. I have emailed them several times with no response, I called them about two weeks ago and they said the checks where going to be delivered last week. That didn't happened.

Just wondering what others are experiencing. Thank you.

Kind of a dick move to mail the recall paperwork via certified mail, @Dometic .

I got the notice left from my mail carrier and thought it was something important, went and retrieved it from the post office, and wasted two hours for a sticker.

Possibly a legal requirement to ensure customer receipt?

This whole thing is lame. The only thing saving me from the potential recall problem is that I don’t fit in the garage. Otherwise charging it with home AC power while it’s plugged into my truck makes sense and isn’t an impossible mistake.

And hearing about the lack of response for refunds and so forth, double lame. I certainly won’t buy another fridge from them when something happens to mine.

I never got the certified mail sticker either...

It is very disappointing. This was my first time purchasing a Dometic product. I'm still waiting on my money back. It is ridiculous, I have send them a few emails with no reply. I call them once a week and when ever they answer the phone they tell me it will be send in a week. A week goes by and nothing. I have to call them back and hope they answer the phone.

I get it situations can happen but jesus this is now a circus! @Dometic a little help would be greatly appreciated.
