Good for you. Glad you had a good time. Looks like your target was killed many times over.

I own a good amount of guns, and the full size 1911 is without a doubt the most pleasurable hand gun I've ever shot.

It's the perfect size and weight for a 45 ACP.

I remember the first time I shot one at a gun range. The first round hit the bullseye and I knew I had to have one.

Glad you had a good time!! As for a 1911, I like the Springfield Range Officer, Operator version. However for pure 1911 sexiness the Dan Wesson Valor is hard to beat.

Sorry it took so long to respond; What's wrong with the hat? My friend had an issue with expelled brass hitting him in the forehead and encouraged me to wear a hat for that reason...

What are the laws in Maine regarding concealed carry? My Grandma has a lake house up there and I've considered moving up there; What sucks is that my Taco is 2WD and moving to Maine would mean replacing it with a 4x4...

Constitutional concealed carry since 2015 if one is not otherwise prohibited from possessing a firearm. One can still complete the permit application/background check if one so chooses (I do). With the permit, one does not have to disclose to LE (when there is contact) the fact that they are carrying a handgun, which is required with no permit.

4WD not needed in Maine. I survived several years with a 2WD ranger and took that thing places it never should have gone.

I don’t even really watch football anyway: I just got it because they’re the local team...

The other thing I’d be afraid of is my frame rotting out; Do they use more salt in Maine than they do in PA?

They use salt and calcium chloride. I've never had a frame rot out on any vehicle. My 2011 is holding up just fine and I've never treated it. Recently had the frame inspected by Toyota and had their treatment applied...with a 10 year extension of frame warranty.

On another note, I’ve not only seen plenty of 2WD Tacomas in Maine, but I saw a 2nd Gen 5-lug RC with no A/C in the parking lot at L.L. Bean headquarters!

Does anybody on TW have a Mossberg handgun, or have they at least fired one? I was at a friend's house today (the same friend who took me shooting for the first time) and we were inevitably talking about guns; He was telling me about the new Mossberg 9mm, I just looked it up, and I really like what I see!

    Competition for Taurus?

I’ve had a couple of mossberg shotguns, they weren’t all that. Hopefully their pistol is awesome, it does look good

A Taurus revolver is on my firearms bucket list; Don't know much about their semi-automatic pistols...
