    400 posts is slightly more than 1 a day since last year, 1.092 to be more precise. That’s not a lot to ask of someone that wants to participate in a community event. I mean, I posted 19 times in the 2019 What did Santa Bring, and I was hardly the top poster there.

    We want people to be engaged and the updated requirements should give us a better pool of participants.

    Here is a shortlist of issues which helped us change the requirements:

    1. Low post or recent join date can often lead to someone getting shafted or someone just never logging in again after getting a name.
    2. Low post count usually leads to someone PM’ing an elf asking for help. Low post counts usually have little to no revealing info for stalking.
    3. People have straight up disappeared after name distribution and never post their gift leaving the sender all anxious because no confirmation of receipt.

    There are other incidents that come up but we keep those behind the scenes. This is no easy task to run each year. We try to do what’s best for the greater population of the community. If you don’t like the updates, participation is optional.
