not to put salt in the wound

1st check ANY used vehicle out b4 purchase

a direct result of Issues !!..........screw ups...........neglect

2- year model & mileage are important factors ( 6or 4cylinder/ manual or auto transmission ) etc

3- be very deliberate in Ur approach to a solution

pull spark plugs have a look at them.............keep them in order of cylinders they come from

DONT make a jumble !! Examination could reveal which cylinder is down & WHY

while plugs out good time to do Compression test.............. COLD write numbers down

By blowing smoke it looks like a smoke screen behind you and the cooling system is almost empty unless you shut things down fast

Whenever you have a coolant system failure that was not a hose failure and easy to see .

Doing a cooling system pressure test is always a given it will tell you what is going on.

Who can say if a pre purchase inspection would have found it

A quicky Stop leak fix till the truck is sold fails first time the engine gets heat soaked.

Then it might be one of those random things that happen.
