    Have you checked alignment?

I did. Looking down the flash hider it seems even on all side. The picture is a little off because of the angle but overall looks good. What’s the best way to check?

Alignment rod. Geissele sells them but they’re kind of expensive for a one time thing. It will be more “off” the further away from the muzzle it is. What can?

Would a steel rod to size work? It’s an optimus

It would give you an idea but the alignment rods are precision ground. A regular rod is not.

I've used an alignment rod from CNCWarrior. $30 and it did the trick.

Capital Armory is in my backyard and I ordered one through them. Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow afternoon and they have it at the store. It said in stock so I would assume so.

As I type they replied and said yes:)

Edit: the rod was $35 so I feel like I'm winning

Nah, I decided not to do anything like that. What good will it bring to me? None. It won’t change anything at all. If anything it could possibly make my situation worse. Who knows. It won’t rewind the last nine months and give me a do over. It certainly will not make the ATF drop everything else going on and knock my paperwork out any faster. I’m just another name on a very long list. It is what it is, and I have to accept that. I have accepted that, and I feel more confident about everything today than I have all year. Just by filling out the paperwork in front of me and putting it in a usps priority envelope with a tracking number and letting me personally carry it to the postmaster took a lot of doubt and “what if’s” off of my mind.

That’s good. I agree it wouldn’t do anything to help. Unfortunately nobody wins when it comes to the waiting process (mods this isn’t meant to be political it’s literally a fact). If it makes you feel any better it took a month for the atf to process payment for the 5 stamps I sent off recently. After 2/5 $200 charges my bank (BoA that used to process NFA payments mind you) flagged the other three and wouldn’t let them go through. I called them to see if they’d just run the card again. Nope. It will be mailed back.

Always a good idea, especially on an AK. I had my flash hider taper mount installed and checked by my buddy who owns a gun shop. Believe it or not it needed nothing, was concentric right out of the box... which was surprising since it’s an surplus Iraqi Contractor rig! Recce 7 mounted up.

Yea I'm sure the barrel is centric coming from Zastava but it's more fun to show the internet how good of a rifle you got

    Rifle looks really good too!

Well my check finally got cashed. I’ve been waiting since January. After resubmitting everything, with a fresh check, I can finally say that my tax stamp is pending. Fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong. I seem to be a magnet for that sort of thing.
