A few bottles of beer and some patience! Also, make sure you check these bracket points to have it sit flush.

Alright gents, I did my install tonight, and I have a few questions. First I know I am missing my GPS antenna adapter, that comes in on Wednesday so I'll add that once it comes in.
The obd2 cable that has a white and black connector coming out of it, I was able to figure out where the white one plugs into but I was not able to figure out where the black one goes to as I had nothing else to plug into, picture for reference below

I also had some leftover wires, everything seems to work fine except for my USB which is grayed out on my screen for some reason, but I'll mess with that plug when the GPS adapters come in and I have to get back there.
Here are my extra wires, do I need to do anything with these?

Lastly I was able to have android auto connected, ny Hotspot connected, the app working and I was even able to do the firmware update via the app. So I am pretty happy with that stuff.

Thank you all as I have gotten a lot of information from this thread

FYI Firmware version 1.30 dropped today (at least for the 6600). It only appeared on the CarAVAssist app and not on the downloads page for some reason. I can confirm it did fix an issue some have reported about triggering the front camera with a button from the maestro config (rr2 in my case). Most of the other fixes were Alexa related. I wish I screen grabbed the release notes as I assumed it would have been on the website. I am sure someone else can upload that shortly.

Step 4 I believe? I’m not sure though as I haven’t connected mine because I’m not even sure where it’s supposed to connect to with the large connector.

Anyone use the Alexa feature? How do you like it? I use mine mostly for carplay, wired so that my phone will charge. Use my firestick for any movie or data/internet features I may need.

So I just installed my 6600 and it is all working great (finally after a couple of hours, a few of beers, and an absurd amount of expletives). The only problem is when I go to edit the OEM vehicle settings the options are all greyed out and for the life of me I cannot figure out what I did wrong. Everything else is working properly (steering wheel controls, gauge cluster display, tire pressure readings, CarPlay, XM radio, etc.) I figure it must be something with the RR but I reflashed it and double-checked my wiring twice over. Currently, I have four wires coming out of the RR. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!!

After doing a bit of research I think it might have to do with the fact that my truck is a manual and something to do with the e-brake wire. But I have it hooked up to the correct wire from the head unit to the harness, so I'm not sure whats wrong with it. :(

Do you have the OBD plug from the RR plugged into the OBD port for your truck?

Yes I do... I actually think I fixed it though... I disconnected the brake wire, and connected the 6600’s ebrake wire into the HU’s ground cable. Seems to have fixed the problem!

My only reservations of ordering the stereo is I want to retain the mic that’s integrated into the headliner. Has anyone made this work or is there videos out there running the new one up into the liner?

    thanks

See this for a rectangular option.

Many of us use foam to secure the mic supplied with the pioneer into the factory location in the overhead console after removing the factory mic.

I've pondered trying to cut and pin the cable itself into the 24 pin connector but that's a ton of work for zero functional gain other than easier removal of the console with just one connector.

A simpler option might simply be a long mic extension cable so you can unplug and then bundle the mic up high and tape/zip tie.

This specific topic should be near last on your list of potential concerns with any aftermarket head unit. It's a trivial effort with multiple potential solutions.

Can anyone confirm for me if they have successfully used the Carista app after installing their 6600? Preferably the iOS version for iPhone on the latest 14.1 release from Apple. Worked fine for me before and I suspect it is either the head unit or this new iOS release.
I have a 2020 TRD Sport and iPhone 7 Plus. It just keeps asking me to pick truck model and no years newer than 2016 appear on the list for the Tacoma.
    Thanks.

I owned this Pioneer for about 3 months, love it and now it's about time to put the front camera on. I tried the last couple of days but have no idea why the 2nd camera selection always shows a dark screen. Can anyone show me which connection should the NATIKA camera hooking up to? The power I hooked to the fuse 15amps power outlet and not working.

    Please advise.

I hooked mine up to the one on the left if you’re looking at the back of the radio. Video out I believe. I tapped the Qi switch for power so I’m not much help there.

So just to clarify this will fit without having to modify the premium bezel.

Has anyone put this in a 2020 with the multi-terrain view cameras? It says it was take a second camera input, but I'm just looking for anyone's experience.
