Hi, so I’ve noticed today that the condensation from the AC drain has caused rust on the passenger side frame. I’ve had the truck for 3 years and didn’t think twice about checking for rust until I was working on my suspension and noticed rust on the passenger side frame only.

Is this pretty bad? Can I just spray some rust prevention and move on? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

FluidFilm seems to work pretty well.
It seems to stays on longer than others.
I think you can buy it at Lowe’s

Don’t I have to sand the rust off first? Sorry for all the questions

I guess you could use a soft bristle wire brush on it first.
If you do that, might as well throw some paint on it.

I personally, would spray it with FluidFilm and leave it.
That’s not “bad enough “ for me to worry about much.

Aww man, you just let your truck get totaled :(

lightly sand or wire brush it and put any of the coatings on mentioned above. You're just fine.

After reading all the rust issues on here, i just went with cosmoline on the entire undercarriage. Gave that area in the pics an extra coat...in fact i have all the welds an extra squirt.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Don’t touch it! Rust is known to the state of California to cause cancer. There should be a prop 65 warning sticker on your frame to warn you about this.

Use liquid film. It will stop the rust. Apply every fall. Here my fix.
