    Some great info here.
Think I'm leaning towards BAMF because they do use the standard length springs.

    Bump.

    Been trying to decide between the two styles myself after discovering this;

I knew I had a problem a couple months ago, but now it’s stressing my leaf!

BAMF is winning on price, but that’s all I know for sure. I read somewhere that my 47R Dakar’s will bind with the BAMF hangers...?

That sounds neat and all, but I’m not much of a gambler. I’d rather get what’s better for my truck overall.

Re: Dakars, they'll bind in any hangers when they get drooped out. The leafs fan out and the second leaf can get jammed in the shackle. The fix is easy, just trim off 1" from the end of the second leaf.

I have a set of hammer hangers on my truck and have installed a couple of sets on other trucks. I've also installed a set of bamf hangers on someone else's truck. I prefer the hammer hangers.

    1. They were easier to install. Our frames taper inward towards the rear and the HH matches this taper, the bamf does not. This translates to a headache during install for the bamf. The leaf bushing just didn't want to align in the shackle. I had to bolt the shackle to the hanger, leaf to the shackle, and THEN bolt the hanger onto the frame. There's some undue stress in there somewhere, likely on the bushings.
    2. The crossbar. The HH you can purchase one, you can purchase the endplates, or just make your own entirely. I've made crossbars for both, I found the HH to be easier to fabricate with how the hangers and bar holes are setup.
    3. The newest version of the HH got sucked up higher than previous versions. This means they no longer hang a little low like they used to. They are a hair higher than stock. They also have a second set of mounting holes now depending on what leafs/shackles you run. A little bit of customization depending on your setup.
    4. This one's minor, but I prefer the hardware supplied with the hammer hangers. Where the hangers attach to the frame, black flange head bolts and nylock nuts. In the shackle/leaf, metric class 10.9 with nylock nuts. I never liked all this excess on the bamf hangers. Again, super minor, but why not supply the correct length?

Happy to help. Most people don't have hands-on experience with both sets, just the one they purchased for themselves, so of course that's what they're going to recommend. That's why I like to chime in when I can.

To be clear, they're both great products and very similar. It's just the differences are very subtle and nuanced and most aren't aware of them.

I am currently running the Dakars now.

Looks like my better option here are the HH’s.... ??

I went with BAMF cause the Archive ones had the possibility of flipping the shackle out of the hanger if it drooped too much. I don't know if it was fixed/addressed. Along with the BAMF customer service.

The possibility was eliminated by having the ramped front lip all the way across, which makes the Hammer hangers really rigid and tough, and also why they get rave reviews for ride quality, and of course durability off the charts.

The real reason some people had that happen is because they had another brand relocation and it was improperly setup or it was not possible to put the shock tabs low enough, so it bottomed out the shock and let the springs over extend, Hammer hangers did their job and increased droop, just bad shock setup. It would be like putting a 16" shock in the Archive relocation. I have a drawing to explain it.

I see a lot of people talking about BAMF customer service, well I can speak first hand that Archive has one of the best customer service I have ever dealt with as well as a real quality product.Eric is a great guy, will answer any questions and is a true professional.
