About 11 months ago, I installed brand new Fox 2.0 coilover shocks on my 08 tacoma base double cab. I jacked her up to diagnose a loud clunking sound from the front end and find the passenger side spring is broken. It's claimed corrosion resistant finish isn't living up to its name. Any idea how the F this could have happened?20190629_155217.jpg

That sucks, looking at the amount of rust where it broke it must have happened a while ago. I read many times that Fox aren't very corrosion resistant, but it didn't break because of rust. Might be a defect in that spring, I would call them.

It does look like a defect. Been trying to fix the clunking sound for a while now, replacing a CV axle and both wheel hub bearing assemblies. Driver side spring is rust free which is strsnge. They come with a one year limited warranty, but something tells me when I call Mon they'll give me a hard time since I installed them myself and not an authorized dealer.

Bump, any update on this? Just had this happen to my Fox 2.5’s. They were about 2 years old.

Because it was still within the 1 year warranty they offered to repair it. Only they refused to send me a replacement.. They expected me to remove the part, decommission my daily driver until I send it to California, wait for them to inspect and repair it, and send it back. I couldn't keep my work truck on blocks for that long so I was forced to buy a new replacement, swapped it out then sent it out. They rebuilt the entire coilover so it was in new working condition. I had to pay $115ish to send it out, took them a little over a week to get it back to me so I'm still not happy about it.

If yours is 2 years old it's probably out of warranty so you'll probably have to pay for the repair. Their policies are b.s.

Yeah, unless you live next to their off road headquarters like me... then you just drive there with your friend and demand answers in person.

I had a fox product that didn’t work and their attitude was “too bad, we are busy and you are a nobody”.

Customer service is why I have ADS.

although, seeing how @AccuTune Offroad steps in and supports this community, I’m sure if they were the retailer you used they probably have done you right from the beginning

Sorry to hear about that...I didn’t even bother with fox customer service. Went ahead and ordered some 14” king springs. I’ll likely go with another brand when it’s time for a whole new set up.
