I installed a 2" RC spacer lift (To hold me over until I can go Eibach Pro) on my 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport 6MT about 2,000kms ago. Truck only has 5,400kms now and I have started to develop a vibration and worry it is the needle bearing going. The strange part is I only notice the vibration when the truck is cold and going over 50-60mph. Once it warms up I do not notice it. Truck was at the dealership for unrelated warranty work and they did a complimentary alignment check and said everything is in spec. I plan to double check all the bolts and such this weekend but wanted to see if anyone else has run into this. Truck drives as it should other than this!

    Cheers,

    Does it happen when breaking?

The test for needle bearing is to see if the vibration goes away in 4wd.
Normally the problem Is at lower speeds 20-30 mph.

I would think it would be consistent. Not just when cold.

Good to know. I do not get any vibration at those speeds.

I thought about this but assume I would have felt it immediately. Not a couple months down the road. Plus I assume it would be consistent and not only when its cold.

Could be shocks or other dampeners. Once warmed up they reduce that vibration.

Not saying this is the case at your dealer, but the "checks" at the dealer I used to go to were quick eyeballing at best.

Anything odd about the tire wear from a glance? No? Alignment checked good.

Hell I took my truck there not to long ago haven't worked there in a decade and they're up to the same old tricks.

I got my "courtesy check" sheet back from them, they said I needed an alignment, my battery was weak, and my coolant was low.

Coolant was spot on, truck was aligned a week prior and I had barely driven it so I know it was still good, and the battery was only two months old.

That said I doubt it's an alignment issue, You can check for the needle bearing by putting it in four wheel drive and seeing if the vibration goes away, when you lifted your truck did you lift the rear as well? It may be a drive shaft vibration.

Depending on your geographical location, it could also be a hard spot in your tires from sitting while cold outside.

I take everything they say with a grain of salt lol. I do not have proof said check was done but steering wheel is straight and it drives as straight as it is when I drove it off the lot. Tires look mint too.
