Nah just get the hitch extender from harbor freight. Works just fine. Hell the way you had it probably works fine. I have a 12’ I fish out of and don’t use one just secure it good.

 

Ah yeah i know its fine im just trollin miguel. I went to havasu last time with it the same way and it was fine. Got one tie down in the front on the handle, and that one in the rear. Feels weird tho with wind haha

 

Nah just get a camper with 2 gobi racks, and make sure to mount everything on them

4Runner is back on the road!

Newly re-sized rear driveshaft fits perfectly. Had to take it down the road to fill the tank. No vibrations up to 60mph so I think it will be good. Tested 4HI and 4LO in the street out front of the house, both worked as expected. I do get a little grinding going into 4LO with the trans in N and then again going back into 4HI but I'll see if that goes away with some use and when the engine and everything else is more warmed up. Fluid level in the tcase is good, running Redline 75w90 gear oil per specs for the tcase.

No more clunking in the rear end coming to a stop with the new rear links either. Feels much more solid overall back there.

I'll see if running in 2WD now will give any improvement in mpg or not. Not really expecting much, more curious than anything. As long as it doesn't get worse.
