I noticed that my new SR5 does not have an input plug for AUX, that it only comes with a couple of USB plugs. I got on Amazon and ordered an adapter and had to return it cause it does not work. I search for other adapters but they all say it would not work on cars or trucks. Does any one know of an adapter that would let me connect an auxiliary device to my 2020 SR5?

I don't have a '20 but do have a 3rd gen SR5 & I find this unlikely. Please provide pictures of your lower dash & of the input options on your screen.

My 18 SR has one, it's beneath a small door. Did they change the dash for 20?

20 OR owner here. I think OP is right now that I think of it. I’ve only used BT and USB so I’m not actually sure now that I think of it.

If it’s like my OR, there’s nothing on the center stack. Maybe there’s something inside the center console with those USB ports in there.

So the jack input was removed, the ability to play via USB or both?

On the dash board I have a USB media port. I suppose is for (charging)power and data. And in the center console it has (2) 2.1A USB charge-ports, I suppose those only have charging power no data interface. But no AUX that I see anywhere. Is funny cause it does have the old cigarettes' lighter round port.

I'm sure your single usb port is a data connection only and will not charge at all. At least mine doesn't.

@SR5 4x2 Guy gotcha. I thought you were saying there was no way to connect media via a wired connection. But the 3.5mm "headphone" style jack is no longer on the trucks?

If there is one is not visible on the dash board, the quick reference guide that came with the truck does not list any AUX jack, there should be an adapter Jack to USB that would work I assume, but so far they all say does not work on vehicles.

yeah same here. Maybe the JBL system has one, or maybe the SR with the smaller screen has one? But unlikely since all trims have the Android/Apple support

nah mine charges plenty out of it. It’s in the center stack and it’s for Android and Apple car interfaces, and gives it a decent charge too.

Well my 3 USB port seems to have charging capability but only the one on the dash will support media, (connecting a compatible device) they said in manual.

If I find an adapter AUX to USB that would work, I'll update you guys on it. Thanks to all for your input.

easiest way is going to be a Bluetooth transmitter, that will plug into the headphone jack on your device, then pair to the radio via bluetooth. (something like this)

I can confirm that there is no AUX jack in the 2020. My SR5 only has the usb port in the dash and 2 inside the console.
The dash one does charge my OnePlus 7pro, it's not a fast charger but it does work fine for music and data like using maps. You can also use bluetooth, i do use bluetooth most of the time. I never plug in unless I'm going to use maps.

    Stock.
Problem with Bluetooth is the lag when watching video, and also the loss in sound quality.
