I rebuilt the CV's back in February, Last week I noticed the factory drivers side outer boot, inside clamp popped off, seemed pretty recent as the grease that leaked out covering everything was cleanish.

Injected some more grease into the boot and put on a screw type clamp, this week that popped off. Pretty sure I heard it happen when I was making a u turn at full lock.

Did I do something wrong? or just put on another clamp and hope for the best?

I made sure my clamp was very tight. I was worried about the same thing but mine hasn’t popped off since I put a new boot on it a few months ago

Make sure the sleeve of the boot and the axle shaft have no grease, otherwise no matter how tight you make the clamp it will not stay.

i dealt with the same issue months ago and finally bit the bullet and took the time to clean everything up instead of just tightening the clamp down harder, hasn’t came loose since.
