Frame rustproofing done at Dealers? Questions to clarify MAny posts

Hi, Yes I know there are a ton of frame rust/preventions/stories/suggestions/Ect. Posted and I have read through too many to count.

My specific questions are 1.) Posts say some 2020 frames are factory coated in specific seams/frame locations and or covers/plugs added to the frame. Some Posts say no. Some posts say yes. Some say the dealer only adds the covers/plugs, etc. etc.

So... Was my 2020 Texas made Feb Built SR seam coated ?? I does not look like they did but plastic covers are installed....

2.) Are dealing doing this after the fact or not ??? Outsourcing?

IF I can I'd like to have to goo added by the dealer no cost but don't know if it's a service campaign or I'm just SOL.

Please ... looking for replies that know/work at dealer for verification ... Thanks !

 

All i was told at the dealer when it was built in texas around the same time was that they themselves do not do any rustproofing other than what toyota recommends done on their frames for rust belt trucks that already have issues. Dealer only gave me the name of a shop down the road that i could make an appointment if i wanted my truck done with whatever they use to undercoat it. I elected doing it myself as i live 200 miles away from where i bought the truck.

 

I have a 2016 that was recalled for frame rustproofing. The dealer added some type of rust preventing paste inside some area of the frame and added plugs. I think some trucks have the plugs already including yours. They were not doing anything if you already have the plugs.
