Take it slow I used a cutting wheel on a angle grinder. Have a jack to lift it in place the keep it in place with jack stands while you bolt it up. Good luck

I used a multi tool cordless cutter from home Depot and it cut through fine, smoothed up the edges etc. The bumper comes with a rubber edging for what gets cut off. Mine was a perfect fit and I haven't had any problems with it! Highly recommend the bumper/smittybilt 10k winch, and bodyarmor lightbar!

How much does the BA bumper drop your front end?

Just installed mine with Smittybilt 9500 and light bar yesterday and not really noticing any sag. Having said that I haven't driven it yet but I'm on 33s with no lift yet and didn't rub before (except the occasional turn up a curb). I'll know after I drive it today and can report back.

Drove it over the weekend and definitely had some sag. I didn't measure before / after but it's rubbing a LOT now at stock height. Luckily I'm lifting it this week :)

Thank you. I am looking installing along with the Eibach Stage 1 Pro Lift kit to give me some wiggle room.

    any updates on the sag?

I have 5100s on 888s and ive been getting mixed reviews on if this will sag or if ill be just fine. Im more so just wanting to ensure I dont go back to stock look after adding this on.

You have a 300 Industries grill but no sensor? I have a grill with a sensor and was wondering if the bull bar interferes with the sensor. Mine is at the bottom. Also, did you do a leveling kit, or a lift to get the 33's on there.

Does anyone know how much each bumper weighs? I think the slimline weighs about 35-40 but not sure. Also, do you recommend a lift if getting either bumper? Thanks.

I think the Hiline is about 80#. So about a lift, the bumpers are pretty close in profile to the Tacoma stock and even after I added a Smitybilt 9.5 xrc winch, with steel cable, I dont see much nose droop. But, the roller fairing on a steel cable winch does stick out a couple inches. If you went with a synthetic line winch, you just use a static fairing and thats a lot tighter.

I'd always say lift if you want, but I dont off road in severe enough terrain that its been an issue, so im still stock.

Has anyone done much winching off of these "low profile" style bumpers? Are the mounting points to the frame the same as a full bumper? I was wondering about the strength of the whole thing when under full load. I am interested in getting a winch and thus need a bumper but I am really trying to keep weight down and these low profile options seemed like a good balance between strong construction (ie steel) with winch capability but with some weight savings over a full steel bumper and a price savings over a full aluminum bumper.

I've got a Smitybilt 9.5 gen 3 and Hiline, but not done much winching. Mostly testing pulling a log and stuff. The spec on it says winching up to 10000 lbs. Its mounted where the aluminum bar was (the structural bumper under all the plastic).

Necro bump. How is everyone's bumper holding up? Any regrets? I'm getting ready to buy a bumper and am in analysis paralysis......

Still love my Hiline. No regrets. If you mount a winch, install a light at the same time if you are going to at all. There isn't much room to work on a bar light after the winch goes in.

Thank you for the feedback. I already have a lightbar in the hood scoop, and don't anticipate needing another bright ass light. I do however think I may need some sort of helping hand in the form of a winch in the future.....

I have the Hiline with a Smittybilt 10K winch and a Rough Country Black Series 20" dual row lightbar with amber DRL. The lightbar is rated at 18k lumens, the brightness I found in a 20" dual row lightbar.20210324_152415.jpg 20210324_202124.jpg 20210324_201208.jpg
