We've been tent camping for years with our two, now teenage, boys and are looking into moving up from a tent. We're really looking to just upgrade the tent. I'm really leaning towards the Rockwood GEO PRO G12SRK, but my wife would prefer the
    Rockwood GEO Pro G15TB.

Has anyone towed a Rockwood GEO Pro G15TB with their Tacoma? Wondering what the experience was like towing it with our trucks.

    Thanks for the input.

I have the 14fk & it tow's fine. a little narrower & shorter but similar. I hope your family likes to stay outside - there is not a lot of room in there. I think the front of the interior is the same in both trailers as far as cabinets etc.. where the difference is the dinette / bed. I'm 5'8 and the bed is just long enough. the 15tb has a longer bed. if you're tall make the dinette into a bed and try it out before you buy it. what I don't like is how small the sink is - a dinner plate won't fit in it. also in my trailer getting in & out of the dinette is really tight, but looks better on the 15. fully loaded the 15tb weighs in at just shy of 3900lbs. have you looked at the 19rd? it has the same loaded weight and same width as the 15tb and would fit your family better20200809_184252.jpg . I will say I am happy with how it's built with the aluminum frame instead of stick & staple.

Thanks for the info. We spend most of our time outside when we go camping. The wife really just wants to move away from the tent and our approach to this has really been about just replacing the tent. On some our camping trips, we've had a few nights of pretty bad weather in the tent and she wants something a little more secure.

We did look at the 19rd right before COVID and I was concerned about the weight when it's loaded. I didn't realize how close it was to the 15tb weight wise. She won't be going on all the camping trips either so trying to keep it to something I can manage with just the boys.

EDIT: We looked at the G19BH: https://forestriverinc.com/rvs/travel-trailers/rockwood-geo-pro/G19BH/4396

Not yet, we're really leaning towards the 15TB and looking to get some time before the end of the year.

We have a Grand Design XLS 17MKE. it is about 4,700 dry. Have not had issues pulling it even going over mountain passes. Although I did order the OV Tune. Have not installed it yet since i am waiting for the cable.

That's a nice trailer. Not sure we need something this big.

@Hijynx Are you using a WDH with your trailer?

Thanks! Just ordered a break controller. Hoping to go look at 15TB some time next month or early November.

I recently picked up a 2021 Geo Pro 15TB and tow it with a 2015 double cab TRD Offroad (stock suspension). Have had it out 3 times since picking it up in August. Towing is in mountainous terrain as well as offroad on less than perfect fire roads and a few trails that are less than ideal with any trailer over 18ish feet.

You will know it is there if you are in mountainous/hill terrain, but the Taco handled it fine and only once or twice (on steep uphill) did i have to back off to 50-55mph. Otherwise 60-70 was confortable and easy. I don't track mpg, so I honestly don't know exactly what i averaged, but I would estimate 11ish. I installed a Equal-i-zer brand 90-00-0600 for sway and load distribution. Once we hit any area that is worse than a fire road, i removed the sway bars and have not had an issue. Brake Controller is a Tekonsha P3.

Some nice improvements for the 2021 over previous years is an upgraded 190W solar panel, larger DC only fridge with separate freezer, and larger kitchen sink.

Thank you for the information. This is what I was looking for. We're going to wait a bit to get it because I was told that now is not a good time to buy. They told me that it's a sellers market and they aren't giving a lot discounts now. Hoping that towards the end of the year things change and we can get it.

Thanks! How many people are in the trailer with you? We're a family of 4, so I think the king bed should be big enough for us. What do you think?

It is just my wife and I and our German Shepherd and it works well for us and our camping style. I am 6'2" ~195 lbs, my wife is 5'3" and petite, and the pup is ~70 lbs. We usually sleep separately with the table either under the awning or in our 12x12 screen room. 4 people will probably be a tight fit, but it might work. The 16BH is a nice option that we considered, but I actually wanted the simplicity of no slides and keep it as small as possible. Our dealer here in Salt Lake gave me a few nice discounts/breaks and we paid less out the door than the two used 15TBs I saw for sale while i was searching.

Feel free to PM me if you want, I will answer any questions you might have. I really love this trailer for the wife and I. Small, but more room than you think. Also, I have gone over the trailer top to bottom and have been impressed with the build quality so far. Also, I thought I might be having an issue with the solar and submitted a "contact us" message to Forest River. The gentleman who designed the system called me within 24 hours and we had several calls back and forth, he even gave me his cell phone number to get in touch with him...A+ customer service.

Taco does fine even when having to negotiate the snow covered muddy switchbacks. Got caught out a few weekends ago - several inches of wet heavy snow fell in the wee hours of the morning - By the time we actually left camp there was 4-6 inches on the ground.

Those are some great pictures. Thanks for sharing. We've put getting it on hold until sometime next year. They're not negotiating prices right now, so we're going to wait and see what happens after the new year.
