I had it for the first time when I was 18. The doc prescribed me codeine and I remember passing them and seeing how small those black stones were. I wasn't in particularly bad health at the time either. Now I'm 35, 30lbs heavier, definitely in worse shape but the stones never did come back. Definitely the worst pain I ever experienced so far.

I’ve passed about 30 over the last 7-8 years. Don’t know why but they don’t really bother me. Pretty sure 5 Hour energy is the culprit.

Mine have been really small and never really "hurt" but they were definitely uncomfortable. I can only imagine what a large stone(s) would feel like though.

I had a 13mm stone and a couple smaller. I opted for the laser up the peehole procedure to get it out, general anesthesia. The other option was some kind of sonic blaster, but either way I had to be put under for a stent.
They put the stent between my kidney and bladder during the procedure to dilate the ureter. The stent was in for a couple weeks.
Once the doc pulled the stent (no anesthesia mind you), I was passing stones like crazy.
I still have one stone stuck in the renal cortex but it isn’t going anywhere. I also occasionally pass stones, it’s uncomfortable but not painful.

Not enough water, too much soda and sodium.

Calcium stones, the sodium causes calcium to bind together in the kidney and there you go

    I wanted an MT.
At age 30 I had my first, a 5mm almost perfectly round calcium/oxalate stone 95/5% respectively. 2 weeks later had another one break loose, get stuck in my urter for a few weeks, had lithotripsy to pass it... broke it into 15 or so pieces. Had random ones ever since with my last back in Dec. what is the most important part I think, at 30, I had “multiple bi-lateral” renal calculi. Had a total of 7 stones, I have passed 6 and not developed any new ones since the first one passed! My one in December was the worse so far, it was jagged, got stick about an inch before the finish line... if you know what I mean... I bleed like crazy with it, it sliced up my urerter pretty bad, the pain was not out of the ordinary, but the nausea was absolutely terrible. I puked about every 2 hours, was getting dehydrated from it... sucked

Magical Torodol shot... nice in small doses... but terrible for the liver so my urologist says... I decline them at this point... also decline ct scans... too much radiation... few X-ray shots, make sure I can squeeze it out.. move on

Passed a random stone about 3 weeks ago... felt some discomfort on way to work, got there, a little more discomfort, had a strong urge to Pee... slight burn, blood, PING, it hit the urinal. End of pain. About a 5mm round/oval stone. No other symptoms at all.

Passed this lil bastard today. Doc gave me a bunch of this paper sieves to use anytime I have an idea one will be on the way. Just over a year since they went up and took out a big one and broke up a couple smaller ones.

How did they "Break It Up"? My Urologist gave me a few options and honestly none of them sound like a good idea.

Ureterostomy with laser lithotripsy. Had to go up twice, because the first time they couldn't get a good angle on where it was lodged in my kidney.
Basically stick a camera up ya, then use a laser to break the kidney stone and something to grab the pieces and pull them out.
