First off I have an Access Cab and went looking for a pair of cab mounted bars as I just could not drill holes in my cab. With over 25 years of collected Yakima accessories it seemed the only way for me to go and utilize all the accessories I have. Yakima has such an array of products, figuring out what towers/mounts, styles what ever was an issue. Most of the info on '06 AC indicated using the old style "Q" towers and mounts/clips, so I set about finding a pair on Craig's List. The towers and bars were not an issue, however finding the correct "clips" was a journey.

The needed Q-clips (127,128) are NLA. Although there are many sellers of Q-clips the 127/128 units seem to be very rare birds. I looked for about a year in all the usual places. After seeing a pair of new 128 clips sell on eBay for $160 I about $hit. With many stops and starts I finally found both pairs from a CL seller. With much negotiating to no avail, I made the 4-hour round trip to pick them up. The seller said he had been contacted by buyers from all over the country looking for these but he would not ship.

Not to be long winded, do your research before diving into "You just have to order the clips", not being critical of Wattapunk's info. I'm sure newer Yakima equipment is easier to find. All this being said I am very pleased with the Yakima cab mount bars. You do need to be aware of the load but I have mounted Yakima box, Loadwarrior basket, bike & ski racks all with success. Oh and a wind faring is a must.

All the last poster have are the Yakima bars and fairing. You can buy the Q-towers and clips for his tacoma, unless the bars have changed in design. I had this setup prior to the prinsu rack.

I have the Yakima baseline towers with the aero bar crossbars. I love this set up. It is very solid and works great for my kayaks. E1B8AA83-504D-4619-A4C0-EFDB04FF2C1A.jpg F3DEC2AC-7A8D-4D3F-8D41-5F54B41C9953.jpg

Very nice and looks solid with the Baseline towers in the stock channels. I wish I had understood the Yakima system better and I would have gone this way.

My post #21 above referred to the older Q-Towers that sit on the roof not in the channels.

when i saw the date of the post, I did imagine that i may not hear back about it. Thanks for clearing that up. Silly me, I just thought you were trolling posts and being an asswipe seeing as how I didn’t ask you anything regarding Yakima racks. Thanks for the nice welcome to TW.

I just wish they made a lower profile tower that has the crossbars sitting closer to the top of the roof.

Once cross bar on baseline towers on the roof with a hitch mounted Yakima Longarm is perfect for a canoe/kayak. And easy to take off when not in use.
