    @Baja Designs
    Question: Do the amber turn signals on the RTL-S have a built in flasher(i.e when supplied with constant power they flash by themselves)
    Or
    would they work tying into my existing turn signals and flash at the same frequency when supplied with a pulsed input ?
    Thanks

    The RTL-S does NOT have a built in flasher for the Amber. If you tap into your existing turn signal wiring then the Amber will flash at the same frequency.

    Trying to decide If I want to run them as chase lights constant, or individual turn signals.
    Or both..

    Would the rtl-m be able to be used as the 3rd brake light on a truck cap? Im wondering if anyone has done this and could share how they mounted it. I need working lights in the back for launching boats at night and don't really want to cut holes for recessed lights in the bumper. Using the rtl-m would result in a much cleaner look imho and put the light source much higher. Would this provide enough light or would you suggest the recessed s2 light route? Also, I would try to use the caps existing light cover/lense and mount the rtl-m behind it to maintain the seal. Would this result in a less visible light because it is recessed? would it still work as intended? I would love to see you guys (baja designs) make a mounting bracket/ system specifically for truck cap 3rd brake lights. I think this would be a perfect use for your light!

    Mounting the RTL-M behind your third brake light lens will change the performance of the light. It would be best if you had the light unobstructed and as high on the vehicle as possible.

    Do you have a photo of your cap? I'll take a peek and see if we have anything compatible

    Here is what the light looks like from the outside. It sits flush with the fiberglass and there is a large hole where the light is. The second picture shows what is inside, I believe that there are two threaded holes on either side of the lens and the fiberglass cap is sandwiched between the lens and the light, with two screws, to create the seal. It would also be cool to use the license plate light as an interior dome light if it could be controlled separately. Thanks for your response!IMG_0337.jpgimages.jpg

    It looks like the clearances would be too tight to fit the RTL-M inside the housing. You'd have to completely modify the inside of the shell and light housing.

    Have you considered mounting an RTL-M under the crossbars? It wouldn't light up the bed but would be a great location for brake light visibility

    I did not really consider that route because I already have a working 3rd brake light and have no need for another one. I will most likely mount some light pods up there instead. fyi, the light on my cap is is not average it is a leer xq with recessed light. Most leer models, like the 100r, have a large indent for the light with just a small hole for the wire to feed into. Your light may work on these models. If you guys can come up with an interface to the recessed light, I know I would buy one! Thanks for your time!

    Did you ever do this on your roof rack? I’m thinking about the same, but wasn’t sure how to mount this on my front runner roof rack. Any suggestions or pictures please? Thanks
