Nobody is telling him to jump. Just telling him how far down it is.

Looks like the manual diagram you posted doesn’t show the starter side of the circuit. We’d need that to compare to the limited with push button start.

You can get a manual transmission (including the extension housing) and t-case for less $2500 on car-part.com. They have 15k miles on them. Not too bad. That’s a lot less than the nearly $7k to get these parts new.

putting junk yard parts on a new 2020 truck, is like putting a FRAM Orange can of death oil filter on a Porsche 911, you cant make that dog hunt

by the time he wrangles up all the junked parts from here and there pays shipping, puts the whole mess together(which wont happen) he can just trade the truck in on a 2016-2020 Tacoma manual trans.and probably save money cause in reality nobody likes a manual trans these days and usually are the last off a dealers lot and they are willing to deal on them

You’re probably right. I think we’ve beat the whole “just trade it in” horse to death. He seems well aware of that option.

Now maybe we can work on defining the technical requirements to answer he actual question.

technical requirements are a moot point when someone is endeavoring to think about ripping a perfectly fine 2020 Tacoma apart for what end? he'll lose more money trying it. but we all really know it wont happen anyway

#6 then gets harassed over and over by someone who the only way they can feel superior and compensate for some inadequacy is to trash the OP who simply asks questions. :D

I'm glad you told me no one likes a manual trans so I'm aware of what I am and am not allowed to enjoy. 15k miles on a Toyota drivetrain is basically nothing. a drop in the bucket. you offer me the most expensive options, tell me what I will like, and act as if there are no alternatives. And for your info when we went to purchase the truck, IT was the last Tacoma on the lot. the auto. we actually went to look at a manual but it had already been purchased. I don't necessarily loathe having an auto but I do prefer manuals, whether "everyone" does or not.

I do think it's funny that only the theoretical idea of this build would trigger some people so hard. :D They are so offended by the idea they must defend their aversion to death. :duel:

I recently went through this with my ex gf son, he wants to convert his truck to MT. My first suggestion was to just simply trade it, but if he wants to go through with it then look for one that got totalled in an accident. Having a complete parts truck would give access to everything you need including ECU's, wiring harnesses, or any other oddball parts.

but would you do all that to a 2020 Tacoma? I think on an older vehicle its still a bitch, but to do it to a new 2020 is really out of the question when it comes to common sense, OP could find a 2016-2020 manual trans truck some where in the USA would be far easier than a mess of junkyard parts to pile together, and where or whos doing the work?
