What are the pros and cons of the OEM pro rims? Do the 17in require spacers?

17” wheels gives you more possible tire options with a C load if you plan to go with a LT tire. The only LT tire that I’m aware of in 16” is a Duratrac 265/75r16

17" Toyotas are more likely to rub (on stock 265/70R17 upgrade size), but way more tire choices.

    If you can go 17"

And I’m sure there’s more I’m missing lol
As others have said, 16 in doesn’t offer much in a C load but I have the LT C load Duratracs and love them.
16 in equals slightly more sidewall protection
And 17 in has way more c load tire options.

Like my 16” Pros much better. Recently went to the 16 from the 17 and won’t go back to a 17 again. If you off road having more tire is a big plus. If your truck is just going to be a road queen or don’t take it off road much then a 17” rim might be a better choice as your truck can handle better with less tire and there are also more tire choices in both size and load range. I also think a 16” tire with more sidewall looks better on a 4x4. It’s like putting a tall tire on a sports car. Just wouldn’t look right. Same thing when I see wagon wheels or lower profile tires on a 4x4. Hard not no laugh when I see that. And either Pro rim is a great choice if your trying to fit a 33” tire. Can avoid doing a CMC with these rims.

Picture below with 33” tires on my 16” and 17” Pro rims.

Majority of the driving g will be on road with towing up to 4500 pounds occasionally. So you would suggest 17in with lt tires?

If I was towing and only hitting the occasional trail I would go with a C tire with the 17” Pro rims. And those new 2021 4Runner Pro rims look pretty nice.

I dropped 9.5 pounds with this 16” setup. The 16” Pro wheels are almost 4.5 pounds lighter and the tires are right at 5 pounds lighter so yes, in this configuration I did feel the weight difference. Not sure if I would have just felt the difference between the two wheels but saving 4.5 pounds in unsprung weight is a bonus and another reason to choose the Taco Pro rims over the 4Runner rims.
